  1. While this fix will still work for Group Format 4.1.1, a new version of this hook is available making the need for this tutorial obsolete. Version 4.1.2 is available here: Topic locked.
  2. This topic is obviously being used as a buffer for post counts, so.... locked.
  3. Yes, you are correct. Do not overwrite conf_global, or any other customizations you may have made (such as your favicon). The rest of the process is guided.
  4. Users who "don't post as much" but happily snatch up swaths of content and accept free support are precisely the kind of users that will forever be limited here. Sure, you may not have much to offer in the way of content or even support, but we're not a community that is hyper-focused on helping aspiring webmasters who know next to nothing about what they are doing. If we can see you're not putting any effort into your own dilemmas, most of those topics will sit. As such, if you're a competent webmaster you should have no trouble being active here. As for your donation, while it's quite appreciated it will not guarantee you access to your account. +Donators even, are still liable for their actions and can be banned for violations of our guidelines. Why should an inactive user who donated in the past be an exception? If you lose access to your account due to inactivty, simply create another if you wish to rejoin the community. You have no more perks or access now than you do any other member (with perhaps the exception of having fulfilled post requirements).
  5. Asked and answered several times already. The answer is "no".
  6. It's ironic that before considering the context in which the term "leech" is used, WebFlake is accused of being "inflammatory". How amusing.

    Question Donation Rank Removed

You've answered your own question. WebFlake is an entirely new community with entirely new policies. The "lifetime membership" offered on previous iterations of WebFlake applied to those communities, not WebFlake. If you'd like to become a +Donator again, please follow the link offered by DragonVoid. Topic locked.
  8. Absolutely fantastic share. WebFlake loves you, Cookie!
  9. The entire community was built under the pretense of sharing content for free, so no.. selling the product in our Marketplace will not guarantee that someone cannot distribute it if they so desire. The marketplace itself is a free market. Any one user may offer the same services at higher or lesser rates than another user. Skins, hooks, and other content are sold there without any assurances of "protection", implied or otherwise. This alleviates the hassle of tracking down whomever is distributing the content (which they are easily able to do outside of WebFlake as well), and it allows us to maintain our "free" concept. Currently, only Staff have the privilege of revoking submissions of their content (provided they designed it themselves or paid for a unique design), as we volunteer an exorbitant amount of time to this community. We are considering expanding that privilege to other groups but it's not likely to happen anytime soon. We certainly aren't going to make exceptions for new users.

    Question About the user "FBI"

    Hai!

Welcome to WebFlake! Be sure to review our Community Guidelines and our FAQ, both of which are linked to in my signature.
  12. I can confirm that I've received nothing from Hidden that would indicate any desire to leave the team. In fact, quite the opposite. Hidden has been constructive and attentive in all internal discussions and clearly still has a place here on the team. @Hidden - I apologize that this sort of rumor is running rampant. I personally have seen no mention of it aside from discussions I've pointed you to myself, and sincerely hope that the drama llamas don't deter you going forward!

Not a problem. The smileys bar does have navigation buttons. There's about 2 1/2 rows of smileys.

    ^^ it exists.
  15. Are you using GoDaddy's cPanel hosting? If so, what package (economy, deluxe or ultimate)?

  18. Should be just fine unless you're using an older version of IPB, at which point you'll need to start upgrading apps/hooks as well. Not many people make core edits so provided you haven't either, you shouldn't run into any problems at all. Be sure to let us know if you do! If the upgrade goes smoothly and you believe your issue to be resolved, please mark the best answer using the button. 19. Applications are now closed! Staff will begin reviewing applicants and contact those we feel may be a good fit for our Support Team. Thank you to all interested applicants. We will unlock and bump this thread when applications are reopened.
  20. Yessir! Simply overwrite anything you already have there (aside from conf_global.php and your favicon of course). If you've made edits to restore the copyright text, you'll need to make that edit again. If you're already using 3.4.6, you won't need to upgrade. If you are using anything lower than 3.4.6, you will be automatically prompted to update once you navigate to your ACP.
  21. I'm assuming you downloaded a "nulled" version of IPB by ? If so, I recommend upgrading again and using the nulled copy I shared, You have my apologies that you happened across that nonsense. That member's "nulled" releases are precisely why we no longer allow nulled releases by anyone other than Staff or Uploaders.

    Feedback About activity.

While it's not the worst concept, the drawback would be obtaining the "points". If it's anything similar to the site I'm sure you're referencing, I'm not inclined to believe allowing users to earn points by way of posts would be a good idea. If we were to put a heftier posting restriction on downloads, that's a one-off issue with spam per user. Whereas a points system would encourage rapid and persistent spam to accumulate points. There are always other alternatives of course, such as reputation, downloads per submitted file, etc.. but I just don't see it adding any value to the community. Besides, as much as we try to shun WebFlake clones, it'd be a little silly if we were to clone our competition. Sure, we could do it and likely do it better, but WebFlake is the original.
