Everyone needs to understand, the tutorial is based on the default skin and you may need to make adjustments for it to work properly on other skins. In other words, this is not a "one size fits all" solution for every skin. If you have no experience with html/css don't start complaining that it doesn't work. Learn, edit and it will work. -

Show a legend of your forum's groups in your Active Users bar, sorted in the order you specify. Handy so that people know what those group prefixes and suffixes mean when they see them applied to the Active Users. Though not indicated by the author, I've tested this and it does work on 3.4.x. -
