I think the single most important thing to do when brainstorming a website is to create something that you like. Don't worry so much about whether everyone else will like it. When you first create a website, you will be its first and only member. So you want to create something that interests you . . . something that will keep you creating content. It takes patience to build a community. It doesn't happen overnight or in a week or month. Sometimes it takes a year to build a community.

When posting a member introduction, you should be trying to make a good first impression. Imagine that you're introducing yourself to an attractive person you might want to date, or a potential employer you might be trying to impress. We have some really well-thought introductions here.
