WebFlake is not responsible for the transactions that take place within this category, or subsequent private messages. When entering into an agreement with another user, you agree to hold harmless WebFlake and its Staff, and also acknowledge that you are waiving any implied security rights in this community, specifically for the Marketplace. WebFlake promises to investigate all matters involving potential or alleged scams and will take the appropriate action. WebFlake will not replace lost funds, content, or services. When entering our Marketplace, you acknowledge that your interactions with other users are at your own risk.
These rules may be altered at any given time as necessary for the benefit of the community. It is your responsibility to review them as often as possible.
Post Restrictions Lifted - April 18th, 2018
Marketplace posting restrictions have been lifted, however, we've applied new restrictions.
Regular and above: no restrictions.
Novices can respond to topics and create new topics with the Buying/Hiring prefixes.
Novices cannot use the Selling/Trading prefixes.
Newbies cannot create new topics but they can respond to existing threads.
Please note that intentionally misusing prefixes or any other attempts to circumvent restrictions will result in warnings and/or account closure.
Policy Amendment - February 24th, 2015
In light of recent issues involving unethical business practice and dysfunctional websites, we are no longer allowing the advertising of hosting services by regular members. This means you cannot link to, recommend, or otherwise promote a hosting service that is not an accredited name-brand business such as GoDaddy, HostGator, iPage, BlueHost, etc. Doing so will result in the removal of the post / topic and potentially warrant account penalty.
Administrators, Senior Moderators and Moderators, as volunteers to this community, are clearly a trustworthy commodity and therefore completely exempt from this new policy. They can advertise their service, or a service they currently use.
Junior Moderators, Experts, Contributors and Retired Staff are able to apply for an exemption by contacting an Administrator. Senior Moderators and Moderators are not permitted to make exemptions.
All other members are subject to this policy at all times, no exceptions.
As additional clarification, this does not mean if you are a GoDaddy reseller you can still advertise your services. The issue here is not the service rendered but the capacity in which it is, that all too often results in investment loss or incompetent support.
The following guidelines for the WebFlake Marketplace must be followed at all times - posts and topics are subject to removal at Staff's discretion at any time.
First and foremost, services and products offered in this section must be Webmaster-related. Please do not offer products or services for things such as Xbox subscriptions, hacks, gaming mods, etc. Topics like these will be deleted.
When offering a service or product..
You may not offer the services of another individual. Any services offered must be your own with your own content.
You may not sell products that you do not own or author. For instance, attempting to sell retail copies of IPB Shift (ripped or downloaded), is not permitted.
You may not sell products currently listed in our Downloads section.
You may not offer free services in the Marketplace. Post them elsewhere in the appropriate forums (i.e. free theme rips belong in Webmaster Discussion).
You may not offer a service that places our users at immediate risk, either legally or through potentially malicious software.
You must specify a price and an estimated time of delivery for the service or product.
You may link to a third-party portfolio or service site such as Fiverr, eLance, or Guru.
When seeking a service or product..
You may not request free retail copies of skins, applications, or plugins here.
You may submit a buy order where you offer to pay for the plugin/application to be purchased from a licensed user.
You may not request lewd services or anything of pornographic or otherwise offensive nature.
You must offer a budget, an expected time of delivery, and all relevant details to work required.
Note: There will be competition among users. Please do not file reports or harass other users for "stealing" your rips or ideas. If you believe a copy of your work is being sold without your consent, please contact a member of the Staff team directly (preferably through the report system) and offer substantiating evidence that proves the content is yours.
Tip: Users offering theme ripping services should include a brief notation embedded somewhere in the rip that will prove the file is yours (this will prevent a user purchasing a rip from you and reselling it). You are not permitted to link to your website. It is strongly recommended that you do not make the stamp physically visible. A date/time and username will be sufficient.
Miscellaneous Rules
These are here solely to avoid "but I didn't know!" responses to warnings. Most will be common sense.
You may not post topics for free services that say "I'll offer for free what X user is charging X amount of money for". As long as you do not name a user or their titled service, your post will be permitted.
When providing a feedback on a user's service, do not flame the user or attempt to discredit them based on price. You are not obligated to purchase their service, so you have no right to complain about their chosen pricing.
With the introduction of this Marketplace, any Private Messages that are sent to other users asking for services such as theme rips, will now be considered Unsolicited Support Requests and will be handled accordingly. When interested in hiring a user for their advertised services, respond to the thread. Confidential details may then be taken to Private Messages.
Any item listings left untouched for a month or more are subject to archival. Any services topic left untouched for three months or more is subject to archival.
