  1. 4.3 is demonstrably better. Security will always improve with the latest releases. Check this blog post from IPS for some more insight into what has changed/improved with 4.3: https://invisioncommunity.com/news/product-updates/invision-community-43-r1055/
  2. Better question would be: Twitch or Mixer?
  3. GTA offers a ton of depth and replayability. Watchdogs is more of a linear story. Haven't played Watchdogs 2 because a reboot from the original game just doesn't feel right. Aiden Pearce was the whole story. Ending was shit too.
  4. Assuming you would like to hide the sub-forums on the forum index only, you'll need to edit forumRow in your theme's templates: ACP -> Theme -> forums -> front -> index -> forumRow Find: {{if $forum->hasChildren()}} <ul class="ipsDataItem_subList ipsList_inline"> {{foreach $forum->children() as $subforum}} <li class="{{if \IPS\forums\Topic::containerUnread( $subforum )}}ipsDataItem_unread{{endif}}"> <a href="{$subforum->url()}">{{if \IPS\forums\Topic::containerUnread( $subforum )}}<span class='ipsItemStatus ipsItemStatus_tiny {{if !\IPS\forums\Topic::containerUnread( $subforum ) && !$subforum->redirect_on}}ipsItemStatus_read{{endif}}'><i class="fa fa-circle"></i></span>&nbsp;{{endif}}{$subforum->_title}</a> </li> {{endforeach}} </ul> {{endif}} And comment it out (or just replace it with the following): <!--{{if $forum->hasChildren()}} <ul class="ipsDataItem_subList ipsList_inline"> {{foreach $forum->children() as $subforum}} <li class="{{if \IPS\forums\Topic::containerUnread( $subforum )}}ipsDataItem_unread{{endif}}"> <a href="{$subforum->url()}">{{if \IPS\forums\Topic::containerUnread( $subforum )}}<span class='ipsItemStatus ipsItemStatus_tiny {{if !\IPS\forums\Topic::containerUnread( $subforum ) && !$subforum->redirect_on}}ipsItemStatus_read{{endif}}'><i class="fa fa-circle"></i></span>&nbsp;{{endif}}{$subforum->_title}</a> </li> {{endforeach}} </ul> {{endif}}-->
  5. No need to apologize. In the future though: If you find a solution, please offer your solution in a followup response. No matter how silly it may be. Often times, these sort of self-resolutions can assist other users. When you no longer have need for your topic to be open or have resolved it yourself, just report the post and let us know. I'll archive this thread so that you'll have a chance to read this response.
  6. You can use any host you like but you must do so with the understanding that the host may honor a DMCA request and close your account. Popular hosts like GoDaddy will absolutely honor such DMCA requests but depending on site traffic and whether or not a visitor reports your site to IPS will determine whether or not you can continue using them. I've personally used GoDaddy for years without an issue, with several communities, but I also make an effort to ensure my community looks "legit". Alternatively, find off-shore hosting but then you run the risk of that host offering poor support and/or uptime as well. Ultimately, we can't tell you where to host your site. You need to make that decision for yourself.
  7. We've updated our #welcome channel with the correct link. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

    Question Why can't I....

It does make sense. Newbies are able to download 90 files in the span of 30 days without making a single post — that's enough content for a fully fleshed-out installation with multiple applications, plugins, and themes. With one post before the 30-day marker, you can repeat that process the following month. One post. You could literally respond to our "Count to 10 before a Staff member posts" thread in the Off-Topic forum once per month and be set. By requiring that one post per month, we hope to encourage greater activity and a more vested interest in the community. Absolutely zero excuse to not make an effort. This topic has run its course. Question Why i can't?

You reached your daily download limit for the day (3 per day for Newbies). You'll need to wait until approximately 2:30pm EST later today before it resets.
  10. Updated WebFlake Dark for 4.3 compatibility. We reset everyone back to WebFlake Lite. If you prefer Dark, just switch back. Birthdays display in posts. New Steam login method. View full release

    Question Waiting

Because that is how our member groups are structured.
  12. Thanks for the kind words. Glad to have you!
  13. I'm fairly positive that "Suggest as featured post" (shows as "Suggest Superdeal" for me) is a custom design. As for the thumbs-up icons, that's most likely star ratings with a new icon, moved in-line with the topic title to display beside it. Each of these would likely require a good bit of custom work, dependent upon the theme you're using. Not sure that anyone would be interested in doing this amount of work for free, certainly not for the custom application, so you'll want to use our Marketplace.
  14. What site are you screenshotting from?
  15. These are both default features of IPS 4.2 and 4.3. Reactions and Recommended posts, respectively.
  16. Bitcoin is not available for this promotion.
  17. Due to a glitch during our site upgrade, our Trophies & Medals installation stopped working properly. We've had to reset the trophies but they will continue to be awarded retroactively. These awards are likely to be changed in the near future and are serving as a placeholder. Notifications menu on mobile no longer overflows the element. View full release
  18. That's because you've reached your cap for daily downloads. You'll need to wait until approximately 4pm EST before your daily cap resets.
  19. I don't believe boards are coming to an end. Perhaps for certain niches, yes, but not for webmaster communities. Of the roughly 5k member visits over the last 27 days, less than 7% of those users are active on our Discord server. We've had 1.5k new posts (including new threads) in the span of three weeks (before the change to the policy) and a mere few hundred messages on Discord, largely from the same users. Activity is there, it's just a matter of harnessing it to become something worthwhile. Every file and every meaningful post helps. I do appreciate the feedback!
  20. We're not "begging" nor should we have to. Ends don't justify the means if we're nothing more than a database. We want members to contribute, even if it's just once a month. Twelve posts in the span of a year isn't too much to ask. Our Inactivity Policy won't have an impact on one-time users. Our goal is to encourage users that are taking advantage of this free service repeatedly, to make an effort to contribute to this community, which costs nothing more than a few moments of their time. If they want to circumvent that, they're welcome to contribute by donating, which places them in a group that is exempt from this policy. Yes, there is a greater risk for spam but that's why we've made it abundantly clear that repeated spam will just result in their account being flagged as a spam account.
  21. Try the following link: https://webflake.sx/settings/login/?service=11
  22. Invisible reCAPTCHA is now working properly. New users will no longer be mistakenly marked inactive. Due to an unforeseen change with the group promotions, we've had to adjust our Inactivity Policy. Inactivity Policy only applies to Newbies, Members, and Advanced Members Accounts that were created 30 or more days ago and have not posted in 30 or more days will be marked inactive. Content count is not considered. Whether you have 0 posts or 49, you're subject to this rule. To further clarify: if you create an account and don't post at all within 30 days, you'll be marked inactive. Even if you're logging in daily and downloading files. To remove yourself from the Inactive Members group, you only need to post once. You'll be moved to Newbies. To restore your previous group, you'll need to post once more so that the system scans the promotion rules again. In short, you need to post twice to move out of Inactive Members and back to your original group. Please do not spam with "thanks", "welcome", or other useless nonsense. Your account will just be flagged as a spammer. We're evaluating our options for improving this feature as we're not at all satisfied with it. Additional CSS tweaks made to the theme. Modals should no longer be discolored or misaligned. View full release

    Question 4 downloads

This topic is dated from 2017. There is absolutely zero reason to continue bumping it. As for you, @Hazellek, your response is entirely insensitive. This is a free service but it doesn't operate without cost. Common sense says that we need the donations to ensure continued upkeep, especially for a site/database of this magnitude. Perhaps if you ever have a community bigger than just yourself and your two closest friends, you might have an appreciation for donations/sales. Then again, with an attitude like that, I don't foresee you ever getting that far. Topic locked.
  24. The question(s) in this support topic have been answered and the topic author has resolved their issue. This topic is now closed. If you have other questions, please open a new topic.
  25. Couple of things. 1- This isn't a request. Requests are for requesting specific files. Therefore, this is the best forum. 2- You believed this to be a request, knew you didn't have access to the Requests forum, and then tried to circumvent that restriction — that's not okay. While you haven't broken any rules and I won't be issuing a formal warning, let this be an informal "wake the fuck up" moment. Please do not attempt to circumvent our account restrictions in the future or your account will be suspended. Our Requests forum has a very clear description. No excuses. 3- You can achieve what you're looking to do by using either the Donation app and setting membership upgrades to a custom group or using the Commerce app with some combination of its built-in donation module or the storefront itself. I'm not going to provide further support because frankly, I don't appreciate your brazen acknowledgement that you were circumventing our permissions system. As such, I'm closing this topic. You can figure the rest out for yourself.
