Yeah, we had a small error with our popup templates. Fixed that earlier this morning. Apologies for not seeing this sooner. Thanks for the heads-up though!

Maintenance has been postponed until further notice. Apologies for any confusion.

It's not that difficult. You have access to post new threads and/or responses in at least twenty-one (21) forums. Participate in forum mini-games Provide an answer in Support forums Provide feedback on the site Post an introduction Share a tutorial There are countless options to make those five posts in a way that is constructive and actually worthwhile to read.

It is with a heavy heart that we must bid @GradientWizzard a temporary adieu as life has gotten in the way of his availability. Gradient has informed me of his hiatus. I've already spoken with him and assured him that his spot on the team will still be here when he returns and he in turn has assured me that he'll be stopping by from time to time to say "hello" to the team and the community. I want to take this opportunity to thank you, P, for your friendship and your dedication to this site. I genuinely wish you all of the best and hope you get things sorted.

WebFlake will have scheduled downtime from approximately 8pm-9pm EST tomorrow, June 22nd, for site upgrade and maintenance.

Inactive Members will now see a large notice on the site index alerting them to their current account status with a reminder that they need to create five (5) non-spam posts to be automatically moved back to their original usergroup. This is just a placeholder until we design something more aesthetically pleasing. Updated our terms for the Delete My Account feature. Per GDPR Article 6(1)(f), WebFlake is lawfully permitted to dismiss account deletion requests to protect the legitimate interests of our community by thwarting ban evasions and/or circumvention of our permissions system(s). With a future update of the DMA application, we will begin requiring users to enter a reason for why they are requesting their account be deleted. In the meantime, users that do not offer a reason will have their request denied, no exceptions. View full release

StopForumSpam, CleanTalk, etc. Default IPS Spam requires an active license to use.

500 errors are typically a timeout issue. You'll either need to increase your upload_max_filesize in your ini file (set post_max_size to the same value) or it may be an issue with your host.

Many of you are going to have some questions while others are likely to be upset with some of these changes so allow me to address what I expect to be the most popular responses. Why the new groups? A better question would be: why not? We currently have nearly 500 members with 50 posts or more and roughly 125 users with 100+ posts. These new groups afford more access and better perks for being invested in our community. Why did you change the permissions for existing groups? Permissions were previously patterned around the three main user groups: Newbie, Member, and Advanced Member. To make room for these two new groups, we had to readjust some permissions in a way that not only made sense but made it a worthwhile endeavor to earn a promotion to these new groups. But why did you reduce the daily download cap for Newbies? Three downloads alone is quite generous given that you're not required to make a post, add a profile photo, or do, well, anything on our site. It may even be reduced further in the future because I want to reward users who make an effort to improve the community by contributing to discussion, support, or feedback. I already have X number of posts, why haven't I been upgraded yet? As soon as you make your next post, the system will automatically promote you to the appropriate user group. Why do these restrictions exist at all? To encourage activity and/or donations to improve your level of access. Sure, there are ways to circumvent these restrictions if you're savvy enough but when caught (and in most cases you will be), you'll be banned from the community. It's about respect, more than anything. Why such a big increase in posts required to make a file request? This is a trade-off. Rather than increasing the number of posts required to reach Member, I simply upped the requirement for file requests to 50 posts (ala Advanced Member). In theory, this should help protect the users who are willing to assume the risk to fulfill these requests. An individual with 50 posts in our community is much less likely to be someone who spammed their way to 15 posts and are also much less likely to be a trap account. Will there be more groups in the future? We currently have five with the two new groups: Newbies, Members, Advanced Members, Elite Members, and Legendary. That's sufficient for the foreseeable future. I'll answer any additional questions as they are presented.

Dangerous PHP Functions Enabled
Tony replied to Hazard Droid's question in Invision Support Archives
What you are seeing is just best-practice security advice. Your forum will continue to operate normally. There is no guarantee that you are at any risk because of these functions being enabled. Many hosting environments have these functions enabled by default. Different hosting environments allow for different levels of flexibility with PHP functions. Yours, it seems, is a bit limited and that's okay. If you truly feel uncomfortable, then your best course of action is to find a new host. The problem is not with IPS or our release. -

It works. You're not doing it right, clearly. Group Formatting should be blank (as noted by the red x). Group Name should contain formatting.

Group settings. Downloads tab. Disable Guest permissions for each Downloads category.

Your theme is out of date or incompatible with your version of IPS.
