How I can create a recycle bin location?

Hey, I want to know how I can setup my IPB 3.4.5 to have a recycle bin location and all the deleted content to be moved there?

I mean, if I can edit the "Delete" button to move all the topics to a specified category, it will be allright. That's what I need to.

 

ACP -> Forums -> Forums -> Topic Multi Moderation 

 

You can configure it and add new buttons there.

I don't think you are able to do this. You are able to set up a archive. Anyway, when content is deleted it has the ability to be restored from the ModCP

Yea, I know that, thanks. But I want to se up a folder where all the deleted content to be arhived. I saw other communityes that have this function, like this. (look at the end of the forum, last category)

That will be all archived content. I can tell you how to add a new button onto the moderator tools which says "Archive" and you when clicked it will close + move the topic to a specific section. I could also tell you how to set up a delete one, but you'd still the issue of having the standard delete button, which I'm not sure of how to remove. I could take a look if you wanted though.

Yes but the "Delete" button will remaing. I want that button to delete/edit, not to add a new one.

Add a new button for now, and pm me a admin log in. When I get back from school I will see if I Can remove it.

Instead, you could disable the delete button from being used by your staff, which will then force them to use the "Archive" button. You can setup a multi-moderation command which will then lock the topic, and move it to your specified section, which will be the archive section. Obviously you can call the button whatever you want, and call the forum whatever you want, for example, i have my section called "The Graveyard" which all deleted posts will be moved to.

My theory was:

 

Remove the "Delete" button from topic view, and add a new one in multi-moderation which allowed him to move & hide topics in a certain forum. However, the "Delete" button refused to move from the topic.

You can stop moderators from using the delete feature though, so my theory was stop moderators from deleting content, which would then force the users to either use the 'Hide' button, or the Multimoderation button, which ofcourse would be called something different.

The only way you can stop moderators using the delete button is by adding each moderator group as sectional moderators with access to every forum. But this disables other features such as the "Edit Member" on profiles.

I found the answer. For they who need it:

 

1. Go to ACP > Forums > Topic Multi-Moderation > Create a new button "Delete" and set "move to" to your recycle bin location.

2. When adding a new moderator to a forum (or if you allready have moderators added edit them), set "Can delete others topics/polls?" to No and "Can use topic multi-moderation?" to Yes.

 

For super-moderators won't work, they will see the Delete button created to move forums and the Delete button created to delete content permanently. But this won't be a problem, if you tell them to use the right one.
