IPS 4.6 How to limit products in car

How can I limit the amount of products in the cart?

currently using IPB 4.66.

i only want the allow 1 product to be added to the cart at a time, if the user wants to add a different product the user must first remove the existing product in the cart.

is this possible?

I don't really know if it is possible, but you can use the option to allow users to purchase more than one or configuring association. I know the store hasn't added something like you're searching for, but there are another solutions that you can be grasping.
