Post/Topic Feed refreshes slow

Hello!

 

I'm running your version of IPS 4.2.6, and I noticed that the Post Feed and Topic Feed refreshes really slow...

It takes about 4 minutes after making a post/topic before it shows up in the Post/Topic Feed on the sidebar.

 

Have I missed anything? (Old 3.4.X user, recently moved to 4.2.X)

Glad for any kind of help

 

Edit: I've tried to disable plugins/apps/themes and running everyting as default as possible, yet it's slow.

because the news ips use the news php setting in priority so check your server you need php 7.x.x, you can remove the ajax refresh too in theme edit

This could be one explanation.

Also, try going to AdminCP > Advanced Configuration > Server Environment > Cache sidebar, header and footer blocks option:

Check to see what the time is set to. Read explanation of this setting. It describes your situation exactly.

Sorry if i bump to your topic, but i have a same problem here
I tried to reconfigure all necessary settings but won't work and still lag until now.

BTW i'm running IPS on PHP 7.x.x

Are you using something like Cloudflare? It could be showing a cached version of your page and not the live site.

Yep i using Cloudflare. But if i turn off cloudflare service, i still getting an lag and even more laggy (Sometimes ckeditor or button doesn't show up)

Indeed, Cloudflare does not like Invision Community Suite very much. I've had these issues myself, back when I used Cloudflare. Keep Cloudflare on (but NOT in "Under Attack" mode), go to the "Caching" tab in the dashboard and hit "Purge Everything" - this will force Cloudflare to fetch a fresh version of your site. All in all though, Cloudflare is really shitty to deal with when running IPS; I ran into so many errors on my board with it enabled.

I too, but now my forum is very lag since i turn ON and purge everything in cloudflare

This is a temporary issue as Cloudflare works to recache your site. Did it help solve the issue in your original post?

Also, have you already looked into titcrunch's solution?

I would not recommend have double cacheing.

In theory let's say you have some bad cache, then that cache gets cached by cloud flare.

I would turn off cloud flare caching and let ips handle just fat part. 

Also I think the lowest you can set the sidebar to update to is 30 seconds to one minute.

No, i'm not using the double catching but i still got an lag.
Maybe because of this ?.

If that error makes my forum slow, how to fix that ?, i still confused and i still figure it out how i can fix them :\

Yes i already looked into titcrunch solution but it din't help me
and i dont know this is temporary issue or what, cuz i'm still confused right now :3

when we read your google console error we see a plugin error so desactivate all plugin and check one by one 

you have many js who are block too! is not good, try to edit your theme and place all code in head 

so 2 solutions : 

1. your server is a joke
2. yoru cloudfalre is not configure correctly

so desactivate cloudflare for test without too

i did it, but still lag (even lag on ACP)

I've disabled cloudflare and test it but doesn't change anything (i mean still lag).

What do you mean when you say "disabled" Cloudflare? Did you unpass it from the DNS, because that's what you're supposed to do (orange cloud should now be gray).

Restart your apache/nginx. Also, could you post your apache/nginx logs here? Might be a permissions/group error.

idk if i can restart my apache/nginx, cuz i'm using webhosting on interserver.
And nothing found error on error log

Nothing in your error log? That means that you've got permissions errors, where your Apache/nginx cannot write to the log. You need to get that sorted FIRST before anything else. Tell your host that nothing is showing up in your logs. Logs are the most important part of diagnosing any server-side problem.

This is an ugly problem, but if you want it fixed you've got to cover all the bases of what the issue might be. That's what webmasters do!
