Administrator James Posted June 16, 2015 Administrator Share Posted June 16, 2015 It's a little hard to read the second part of the text, and seeing that text with the 'iOS' kinds of makes no sense IMO. Just doesn't blend well together IMO.
Stake™
As Saviour said, the second part of the logo is almost unreadable. Only letters I can see are: F and T.Also, if I were you, I should never let the two parts overflow in each other.
Chris
I can barely read the second word, as for the iOS, try looking at the iOS design style itself. Use of the same colour schemes which are relevant to iOS will make it perk up as well.
AfricanOreo
'First' was intended to have a signature style, having given it that authenticity I chose the overlay style as well as low letter style.
Chris
I'm guessing that its a iOS blog? - If so, no reason to have a handwritten font to be used, it wont get you any brownie points on a brand, especially where it is unreadable. You would be must better going with a San Serif font all round, especially since you are mentioning iOS, Minimalism all round for a brand which is minimalist. AfricanOreo
Yes it would be a help page/ news blog geared to iOS. Haha having said that I wasn't looking for any brownie points, more soo a unique take to something simplistic.
Stake™
I like the second, purple logo! Steve Jobs' face makes it fantastic.Try to use an another font for "first", because it's unreadable.
Erza
Think of adaption above uniqueness. If you're having a hard time adapting your logo to other platforms then you won't be able to get your word out that far. You can make a super complex unique logo but you won't be able to adapt it into a icon-logo (or anything else) to get the world out. Apple's brand image is the Apple. Easy to adapt, easy to recognize. Nike's brand image is the swoosh thing. Easy to adapt, easy to recognize. McDonald's is the curved M. Again, easy to adapt, easy to remember! Most well known brands have a simple logo. Yours is too complex that it won't get you too far in case you have to adapt. Think about that.

But like I said before going after the same minimalist style which iOS features in all its design, will provide a much easier and recognisable brand Edited June 17, 2015 by Chris

Lady C
and a small tip use anti alias on the fonts for better smoothning!
minidriver
the second iOS logo doesn't jump out as being iOS to me, just something apple related.. and I agree with the others on the 'first' typography. 1. it's borderline unreadable; and 2) uniqueness for the sake of adding uniqueness is pointless... the way to make a blog/webpage standout is unique content. I think I've worked out what I don't like about the second logo.. the spacing between the i and Apple logo and S are too large - compare it with the iOS logo in the first design..
