I like Desktops more for gaming, because they are generally more powerful units than laptops, and hands down a better bargain. Plus, if one element goes bad, which sometimes does happen from the latest games being released nowadays, it's simple and easy to replace, rather than having to risk tearing down the entire unit, paying a ton of cash for someone else to replace it, or having to purchase a new laptop.
I personally have a desktop PC and a laptop. They each serve their own purposes. For gaming, I use my desktop, which is a handsomely built iBuyPower machine which gets the job done and then some. My laptop is a Macbook Pro. It's clean and elegant.
