  1. This doesn't even make any sense. Sandy Cliff? I'm assuming you mean Sandy Hook but there was never any mention of "terrorists". It was one mentally deranged lunatic who had some wild theory for avenging any wrongdoings committed against him. For the sake of civility and everyone's sanity in this community, let's keep these "biggest mistakes" related to legitimate debate points (such as taxes, social security, medicaid, etc). Try to refrain from wild conspiracy theories and other anti-America sentiments.. otherwise, the topic will just be deleted.
  2. May be a bit redundant, but be certain you've recached the skin set and such.
  3. Just a head's up - the images in this tutorial are dead links. I've removed them until the OP is able to replace them if they so choose.
  4. I'm not seeing anywhere on the AEF site that indicates that the source is released under the GPL. Just because it is free software, does not mean that it automatically falls under the GPL. It appears as though they created their own license, which does in fact prohibit you from re-branding and distributing the source and/or distro files. At best, AEF has a modified MSD or MIT license. Vanilla Forums and BuddyPress are the two most popular open source packages that use a GPL license.

I wasn't referring to the menu, per say. Are they expected to rename General Sao's Chicken to General Bob's Chicken? Are they expected to speak English in every area of the restaurant, particularly areas you may overhear? No matter the case, it's an awfully, awfully trivial matter. The only items that are in a foreign language are language packs. If a user finds an extensive description written in a foreign language, they're free to report it. But honestly, as I mentioned before, a user shouldn't feel obligated to translate the description when they're just copy/pasting what is on the IPS Marketplace. Yes, I am aware that this isn't IPS' site, but we serve the same general audience, so this idea that we somehow need to deviate from that for whatever reason, is just nuts. Having said that, I still say it's not a big deal and sounds more like an outlet to complain 'just because'. If Phun or Para believe this is a needed change, I'm sure they'll make the adjustment. I have no interest in replying further because clearly, this will just go on forever.

I fail to see why redundancy is needed for a file's description. If it's in a foreign language, it should be fairly evident that it isn't intended for English-speaking users. When you walk into a Chinese restaurant, do you expect everything to be in English?
  9. Just to clarify, it is perfectly fine to attempt to pool funds among several interested buyers to purchase paid content. Please be aware however, that all contributors must agree on one neutral party to make the purchase. WebFlake is NOT responsible for any poorly made investments and/or the actions of said neutral party! Also, please keep all discussion for this purchase within this thread. Best of luck.

  18. I'm fairly certain Evarni's last response to your request for your PM access to be restored said more than enough. Take particular note of the emboldened line. Even if Evarni would consider restoring your privileges, I'm confident that he would consult me and I can tell you right now, I'd say no. If there was ever a chance of us restoring your Private Messaging abilities (there isn't), you continue to ruin them by harping on it as often as you do. Regardless, the answer was, still is, and forever will be: NO. Hopefully that clears it up for you. Topic locked.

  22. I'm not aware of one existing for IPB just yet. I remember seeing a knockoff of this mod for another forum package other than xenForo, but I can't remember which package it was (perhaps it was IPB after all). Scratch that. Found it and nabbed a copy. You can download it here: Enjoy! The question(s) in this support topic have been answered and the owner has been able to solve the problem. 23. For the love of all that is holy people - read the post thoroughly before responding! The OP is asking how users are able to "get away with" using nulled / unlicensed products on paid web hosting. Please do not respond with comments on what the host may or may not do, or recommend that the OP seek out offshore hosting. @ - more often than not, being a part of a larger hosting company (i.e. Go Daddy) is the easiest way to utilize nulled / unlicensed content with paid hosting. The reason is simple: you're insignificant. As long as you're smart about the conduct of your community, you'll likely never draw any unwanted interest. If someone reports you, then you're fairly crap out of luck as most hosts (including Go Daddy) will terminate your hosting agreement. Don't share warez, nulled, or otherwise copyright infringing or illegal content on your site, and maintain some measure of "legitimacy" (ala don't remove the copyright), and you'll do just fine.
