  1. Appreciate the response.. as it turns out, that was a horrible idea to try though.. adding a background image looks horrible.

    Hello this is weird

Last I knew, if you had something specific you were interested in that you're positive was available on FC, you could make a request for it and one of the Staff members can yank it from a backup database. Whether that still stands or not, I haven't a clue. You'll want to ask for *official* confirmation.
  3. I remember a tutorial being available on FC, but I haven't seen it re-posted here on WebFlake quite yet.. I'm looking to alter my entire forum background. Currently using IPB 3.4.2, with the Simplify 3.4.x skin. As shown below, I'd like to take the background image and have it display ONLY on the outside of the red lines (basically, I don't want it to display inside the main content area). I'd like to move it to the header area as well, but I'll get to that.. taking this one edit at a time. I've made the following edit to ipb_styles.css: body{position: relative;background: #000 url(My URL HERE) no-repeat;}
  4. This tutorial is a hard-coding method of something like the Sticky Message or Global Message hooks. It will display templates (pages) and messages to specific user groups (or prohibit them from displaying to specific groups).
  5. The password for the ACP should be the same as your forum account.. so why not use the Forgot Password option?
  6. Sanctuary is correct.. sometimes it takes 10-30 minutes for a favicon to take effect. I'd say it's a caching issue, but since you're not the only one experiencing it.. then it may just need time to display.
  7. Eh.. it looked as though maybe mod_rewrite wasn't enabled, but Para is likely right. Didn't even think about it because most hosts are fairly lax with mod_security. mr.. simply contact your host, relay the error to them, and ask them if it's at all possible to turn off mod_security temporarily to test if that's the issue, or at the very least, ask for a workaround.
  8. Open the .htaccess file (located in your forum root) and copy/paste its contents here in [ code ] tags.
  9. As I said above, it's either a mod_rewrite issue with your .htaccess file, or you attempted to change the encoding format on your forums. If it's not either of those, then your problem is a bit above my abilities.
  10. Well, on the upside for you Firefox users, it's still far better than IE. Chrome and Firefox have been on a whole new level for years, while IE continues to trudge along behind.
  11. I've stuck it out with Chrome, primarily for Inspect Element and the integration with Gmail and YouTube. It can be a memory hog at times, but nowhere near the level of Firefox..
  12. I'm sure you weren't suggesting that, I just meant that the OP should be careful about how he conducts himself elsewhere as a representative of his site. I've seen a lot of people beleaguer their site before it ever has a chance.
  13. Always good to see another donator. Welcome to WebFlake!
  14. Speechless. Precisely what I bet he wishes for in retrospect.
  15. One should review such forum promotion websites' posting policies before spam-bumping an advertisement thread -- it's just bad form, and is generally frowned upon in most professional communities. Disregarding basic etiquette could give a site a bad rapport before it ever has a chance to expand.
  16. Absolutely! If you need any assistance with GoDaddy, be sure to let me know. I'll do what I can to walk you through it.
  17. Integrated apps are a nuisance - it can cause a number of issues with core upgrades, so IPB's approach is pure genius really. Glad we could be of some assistance!
  18. Could be an older version of the hook that you are using, or it may just be a discrepancy between nulled/retail copies of IPB.
  19. Download the file, make the required edits, and then re-upload the file. Editing via FTP isn't exactly a sure process.. sometimes the edits don't save properly.

    Hello this is weird

The administration team didn't have much of a choice, and honestly, it's for the better though. There were far too many bloated threads with spam "thanks" and attempts to increase post counts, along with a mix of outdated, dysfunctional releases. It was far too much for the Staff team to manage effectively, and this fresh start will give them a better opportunity to ensure WebFlake doesn't go that direction.
  21. Excellent guide - glad you notated that this is for HTML templates.. otherwise, folks will be scouring their WP, Joomla, etc sites.. lol! Most sites have SEO integrated like that as-is.
  22. In order to share content, you'll need to head over to the Downloads section, select the appropriate category (release, skins, etc), and make your upload there. Once you submit the upload and its approved by a Staff member, it'll automatically generate a Support topic for your upload as well.

    Damn, almost cried

Haven't read Old Yeller since I was a kid, but definitely a book (even movie) that is a surefire tearjerker.
  24. It's great watching UFC make history with this match.. Personally, I have a lot of "favorites", but I really enjoyed watching Lesnar dominate while he was in the octagon.
  25. Looks like an issue with mod_rewrite in your .htaccess file, you might want to post any changes you have made to it.
