  1. Thanks for the reply Phun. I was going to contact you on Skype to ask you about this, but you already replied. lol. Anyways, I just started a domain transfer anyway. The register I was with was through my Host, and since I don't have hosting there anymore, and only Domains, I just decided to transfer it to namecheap. I had namecheap before, and they are really good. I even got free WHOIS Guard, and PositiveSSL for $2.99 a year. Which is a good deal, because PositiveSSL is usually $9 per year regularly.
  2. So I forgot to renew my domain (I dont want to post my domain because I dont want to advertise), my domain expired, and a month later I renewed it. After I renewed it, I setup the nameservers for the domain, and some DNS settings to my server IP. However, for some reason the domain is not propagating, or something is wrong with the DNS. But I have a free DOT TK domain, and that works fine. I set it up the same way I setup the DOT NET domain. When I go to my dot net domain, i see at the bottom of the browser "Looking up mysite.net", then a general "server not found error". I have contacted my domain register, but they take 3-4 weeks to respond to one support ticket. And to be honest, I really don't think they will be much help anyway, I just have a feeling. I have my own Dedicated Server, running Windows Server 2008 R2, and Parallels Plesk Panel. Running latest IIS as the webserver, with PHP, MYSQL, etc... And everything seems to be running fine, since I am using a DOT TK domain right now, just to work on my site while my DOT NET domain is fixed. And I have a full IP.Board 3.4 installed on my dot tk domain (I also have a paid license). I was just thinking about transferring my domain to another register, but that means I have to renew it "again", since a register cannot transfer a domain without renewing it at the same time. Thats another $14 on top of the $14 I just payed. I mean $14 isnt much, I will transfer it if I have to, if it means it will work.
  3. On Unix servers, I think you can just use .htaccess (web.config for windows servers) to change some php variables,. I'm not sure though, its been a long time since I didn't have access to a php.ini file.
  4. A home server can be as secure as a datacenter server. It all depends how you set it up. First rule is, never start a server with the PC you use as your home PC. Use a old PC, or build a cheap PC for a dedicated server. Then take precautions against them security threats. You can also use Cloud Flare with your home server for extra protection. And not to mention, if someone attacks your server with a DDOS attack, depending on your host and the level of the attack, your server will go down. There are MANY hosts online, Hosts will full datacenters, that get hit with DDOS, and their servers still goes down. It all depends how you secure your server. ALL servers are open to a DDOS attack. Its how the Servers and Networks respond to the attack, that matters. If the attacker has enough Shells, and a strong enough connection, the attack will take down any server. Which is the reason why DDOS is so illegal. If there was a way to completely prevent a DDOS attack , then people wouldn't even care about DDOS. But there isnt a way to 100% prevent a DDOS attack. Like I said, a Home server can be as secure as any other dedicated server. And my dedicated server has its on dedicated IP, on its own network. No other devices are on that network but my server. So if my server gets hit, I will still have internet.
  5. Hosting from home is a good way to go. When you first start out, you dont need 1Gbps network speed, but you do need at the very least, a Cable Connection for just the server. The server must be on its own Dedicated IP for maximum performance and reliability. After your site gets known, and you start to bring in profit from your site, and Ads, or from other things, then you upgrade your Connection. So then your Site will pay for itself. You will need to upgrade your server ISP to a business class connection. Get the starter speed at first, then work your way up. As for the server hardware, you dont need to spend crazy money on hardware, depending what you want your server to do. If its just you on the server, then you can build a server for about $400-$600. If you are going to be offering web-Hosting, VPS's to clients, then you would need to spend a bit more on hardware. Maybe about $1,200 - $2,000. And thats just for the first server. I have a dedicated home server on its own dedicated IP. Specs: AMD Dual Core 3.0Ghz CPU (Forget the exact Model) 4GB RAM Windows Server 2008 R2 Enkompass Control Panel (cPanel for windows) Hyper-V Technology (For VPS's) Dedicated IP And I built that server with left over parts I had laying around. I also have another server with the same specs, with Centos x64, and cPanel/WHM installed. As long as you do it right, a home server can save you a lot of money.
  6. If anyone needs a SSL Certificate for there site/forum, I found a site that gives them away for free. Its a standard SSL Certificate, but it works fine. I even signed up for one, for my IPB Forum, and it works perfect. I actually enabled HTTPS/SSL throughout my entire IPB Forum. Check it out: https://www.startssl.com/This is no scam, trust me. They are an Authorized SSL Certificate Dealer. And yes, its 100% free for an entire year. Actually, after the year is up, I think you can renew it for free also. Read the FAQ on there site.
  7. How big is your community? If its not that big, I could host your site for free, for at least 6 Months+. And you don't need to worry about any PHP limits, I have everything set really high lol. And I have Zend Loader and ioncube Loader installed. Its a Windows Server 2008 R2 OS, with Enkompass Control Panel, Enkompass was developed by cPanel. Is their control panel for windows. My server is in the USA, but its my own dedicated server, so you can host anything you want. All that I ask, is that you try not to take up to much system resources. No DDOS scripts/programs, Phishing Scripts, etc... But you can hosting anything else such as Nulled Scripts, Warez, Video Scripts, Porn, etc.... Go wild. lol Let me know if your intrested, and I will set you up with a control panel account, and I will PM you the NameServers to point your domain to. I have a hosting site setup, but I haven't setup the automated billing yet.
  8. I haven't found a tutorial for this anywhere online. And since I did this to my board using anonym.to custom code to implement it, i thought I would share it with the community. Go to AdminCP>Look & Feel>Your Default Skin>Manage Templates & CSS Edit the globalTemplate Find: </body>Add Before: <script src="http://js.anonym.to/anonym/anonymize.js" type="text/javascript"></script><script type="text/javascript"><!--protected_links = "yoursite.com";auto_anonymize();//--></script>Edit yoursite.com with your site. Example: <script src="http://js.anonym.to/anonym/anonymize.js" type="text/javascript"></script><script type="text/javascript"><!--protected_links = "webflake.net";auto_anonymize();//--></script>And all URLS/Links will be anonymized with anonym.to before the link, all links but webflake.net. You need to change webflake.net, to your site.
  9. Here is a screen i took a few days ago. Its my gaming rig.
  10. EDIT: Webflake finally let my IP connect again. I have no idea what happened there. For some reason I cannot access webflake.net. I think its my IP. Right now I am on a VPN, so my IP is different then the IP I really use. Could someone look into this for me please? I don't know what happend, one min i am on webflake, then i go to refresh the page, and I get an error saying that chrome could not load the page. I dont know, maybe my IP got blacklisted? Maybe I got IP banned? If I got IP banned, i have not clue why, I didnt do ANYTHING wrong. I run my own dedicated server from home, on the IP that I use, so that might be the only reason why my IP would of got blacklisted. But even then, i dont know how it would be. Phun, do you think you could check into this please? If you need my IP, I will send it to you via PM. I have already cleared my ENTIRE cache in all of my browsers, resetted my modem and router, AND I flushed my DNS (ipconfig /flushdns), and nothing worked.
  11. I have Off-Shore hosting with iwebhostu.org , and they are awesome! They have a Off-Shore Hosting package for $20.95 /Yearly, and you are allowed to link to Warez, and use null scripts. However, I just built my own Dedicated server, I got it up and running the other day. If you want some free hosting for a little bit, until you find a host, let me know. (Ill give you 14 days free hosting) You and me will be the only ones on my dedicated server. I am not using cPanel though, they want to much money, since I am only hosting my domains. I have zPanel installed and configured, with the theme i have installed for zPanel, zPanel looks exactly like cPanel. My dedicated server is on-shore (in my basement), but i dont care. You can host anything you want. Just try not to hog up all the server's bandwidth. lol.
  12. Why are you telling me this? If your telling the truth, why haven't you posted how you get your domains and hosting? That is what the OP is asking, not me. I don't need domains or hosting, I have a VPS and 2 domains with Whois protection.
  13. Good luck lol. The only way to get a free top level domain is to buy hosting. And not all Webhosts offer a free domain when you buy hosting from them. There are no hosts that offer free Off-Shore hosting, even with a subdomain. Off-Shore hosting is popular, so thats where hosts make the most money. I have an Off-Shore VPS with iwebhostu.org, and I had to buy my Top Level domain. Domains are very cheap, they are about $9.99 for a year. lol iwebhostu.org offers shared off-shore webhosting for about $20.95 per year. That is the cheapest I seen offshore hosting. And they are very good. They have fantastic support, servers, etc... I had them for about 2 years already, and never had a problem, including downtime.
  14. I have a Offshore Web server with iwebhostu.com. They are really good, I been with them for about 2 years already, i never had a problem.
