If you want to tell the user why they are banned upon logging in, this hook may do just the job. http://community.invisionpower.com/files/file/5749-ban-reason-view/
With a bit of customization you can make the page look nicer along with the custom message indicating why they are banned.
We don't currently have it here on webflake (as far as i'm aware) but I'm sure somebody will be able to upload it if you create a requests topic.
