How do I take the like button out

ACP -> System Settings -> Members > Reputation System -> Reputation Type -> Both Positive & Negative

ACP -> System Settings -> Members > Reputation System -> Allow users to give themselves reputation -> No

 

Carry out both of them and you will have your desired configuration.
