Disk usage required to host an IPB Community

Joanne

Question

Hello, everyone!

I just created my new forum and I'm really anxious about something - my disk usage. I know it'a a big site and whatever. I have unlimited bandwidth, but my overall disk space is restricted to 5gb. Will they be enough as for now? I do not plan on installing any new websites, but I'm scared that it takes 427m of the spaces with all apps of the IPS Suite turned on. Will it grow when people start posting?

You database will start to grow, the only other thing that will grow would be when people upload images etc to the forum.

Why don't keep an eye on it and if it grows and it has a gig or something left you buy more space or find a new host to move to ?

Will the database take much space?

Also, what about the times when they do not post them, but instead link the images and they visualize? Will this effect it two?

That all depends on size of images, amount of images etc.

IF they link it then no, as it's normally not stored on your server but the server it's linked to.
