TOPIC/POST REBUILD/RECOUNT HOW ?

STAR

Question

R Hi Guys I have wierd issue my members topic count does not match with actual topic count inside the section.

Let me explain. When looking at sections on my website it shows

Screenshot_20180403-111357.thumb.jpg.d111871f3880ba69de55a1d7a4735a70.jpg

5339 posts

Now if I go inside this public mod releases section you will see there is actually 8250 topics inside  ( not incluiding post replys also inside each topic ) as seen here 330 pages 25 topics per page which makes it 8250 again thats just topics not counting how many replys some of the topics have.

Screenshot_20180403-111409.jpg.30615fb87a5407c5f780b3c345e0c2d2.jpg0

But some reason outside in main section of the site it's not showing this number correctly as seen in image 1

Is there a way to rebuild forum topic/posts manually?

As members think there is lot less topics inside then it's showing

Thanks for help.

Yes I did try support tool in admin panel also cleared the saved data on my browser as well as deleting catch still same.

You could change it in your database if you manually count the number of topics/posts by yourself;

Find the forums_forums table and it is organized in forum id order. Find the forum id of that board from the URL (https://i.gyazo.com/e4dfe0510f0dc74e49697571604d830f.png) and find the table for it. Change the number of topics and/or posts you'd like to change it to.

Thanks for reply but that would not be any good as I made auto forum posting Bot and on daily bases it adds new posts and I can't go to SQL DB everyday and update how many posts it has posted.

That's why I was asking if there is some sort of tool or script that can be made so it recounts number of posts on the website.

Thank you

There is no script or tool currently out right now that recounts posts or topics on a forum. In a post on the official IPS forum, a situation like this one was brought up and IPS management investigated it as a report and not a need for a tool. In the end, they fixed the bug and released no tool. You can read about it in the post: https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/407840-where-are-the-rebuild-recount-tools/

If you are looking to request or buy a custom script or tool to be made for you, make a post in the "Marketplace" board: https://webflake.sx/forum/108-marketplace-buy-sell-trade/

I apologize that I try to give an answer to someone and at least try to give them a solution that might help them. The support team answers and gives solutions to problems that we have experienced ourselves. We are all humans, make mistakes, and have not experienced some things that you might have experienced. If our solution isn't the best one or correct, we appreciate the member(s) who might know an effective solution or fix for someone problem. I do appreciate you helping the member with his problem, but please understand that the support team isn't the most accurate.

launch cleanup, cleanupfile and clearcache for empty the cache and launch the rebuild of all data but i think that don't correct your problem your problem come of old file or template qui don't use the new code and count blog, clubs, ecttt the nw code count only post in forum so for verifiy this activate defaut theme and look if you have the same error of count if yes you have old file who need update if no is your theme who are out of date

To be honest, I don't think there is much you can actually do with this problem. IPS simply removed the whole feature to try and make it automatic... that failed. I think the only way is going to be third party add-on, unless cookie has an idea in mind.

There is no old posts I have custom Auto Posting script running which posts threads on my website and makes 20 posts every minute.

So all new posts made by my auto posting Bot is not been counted towards forum stats search finds this posts as I have rebuilt the search but website it self does not count them on front end even thou there is 300 something pages inside with 25 topics per page

To build on this, i think you can use SQL and triggers to say, IF a INSERT is made into XYZ then count the number and insert the value into another field or table.

https://www.w3resource.com/mysql/mysql-triggers.php

So you can think of it like a PHP version, you tell SQL that IF an insert is run into the forum COUNT the topic and then UPDATE the table you want ?
