Problem: email for forums

Hello guys,

I have a problem with no alerts or welcome a new member message on the forum email.

I have another problem. I put my email to the administrator and when I click forgot my password for example and never received a message from the forum. Why?

How to check if the forum is functioning properly and fully or not. So that other problems do not happen?

This seems to me like a host issue.

If your running on localhost then the issue would be non configured mail server.

It can also be incorrectly mail settings for the forum. 

In admincp > system > email settings i belive it is, you can configure the mail to be what your host is telling you.

Mail delivery method: (PHP).

Is there an adjustment in the server control panel or how do I make sure?

You can set the Gmail SMTP setting, i believe you can change it in the email settings.

Here are the settings well SMTP ports etc.

Make sure you change from PHP to SMTP. If this does not work contact your host.

So then you need to check with your hosting provider

What do I write the message to technical support to explain the exact problem? In particular, the explanation was applied and the problem was not solved. Do you know what is the reason and not the hosting?

Before you contact your host (who might screw things up further), check out this recent article regarding how you can use Gmail's servers to send SMTP emails. I assume their sendmail (phpmail) isn't working correctly, so let's try to solve this without involving your host.

Take a look at the article and let us know if you have any questions, or if it works correctly for you.

What we want to find out is it working or not. 

If it is working then it's your email service that has an issue, so you need to contact your host.

It could be it fails and if it does we need to find out  why?
