How can I change the background colour of emails

mcyates

Question

Capture.thumb.PNG.5ce10efbe3f0a3a8938a1f44d61ec0e6.PNG

As you can see my logo in the test email I sent is white and transparent, the background grey colour is #f1f1f1 but I can't find any settings on the invision forum to change this. The screenshot is taken from my gmail account. Surely there must be a way to change the background colour of emails which you sent out via your forum.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I found it in the email wrapper template, i did look before doing a search in chrome but it didn't pick it up for some reason, I searched for the colour f1f1f1. In the end, I found a WYSIWYG editor online and posted the source code and found it that way.

Many thanks

Glad to hear you finally sorted it! :) Could you share what file you had to edit to make it work? That way others might be able to do it too ;)

Aye,

Admin > Appearance > Email

Then load up the "Email Wrapper" template and the code is in there.

Hello, the email files where in root/system/Email but I couldn't find anything about the background colour. It still remains an absolute mystery.

Thanks

I'll check it out tomorrow

I know in admincp > system > email settings you can change the buttons and add a logo etc but not the background. So would presume it's applying from somewhere else.

Currently on my phone so will check and answer tomorrow

I believe you can change a lot of it in

AdminCP > Customization > Email.

So that is the text etc. But you can also further customise the CSS.

So AdminCP > Customization > Themes > Your Theme > CSS > Email

This should be a search so if you find anything, try to change some colours.

So left hand side is anything that has to do with email and the CSS. You can also inspect with chrome and see the style that is applied for in the email itself, then search for that specific style in there to edit it.
