Tinker-Z
(Previously I was known as  TinkerToo)

Spoiler

I was previously known as TinkerToo, recently changed it to Tinker-Z 'cause I felt like a change of pace.  I was honoured to have won a competition on this site in the past which saw me as the guy who made award images for an achievement application this site! ...Well, that it used to run... ?

Q: Where does the name "Tinker-Z" come from?
A: It's my incognito name, if you will... :P

I'm a tinkerer of web stuffs. I have experience in PHPBB, SMF, vBulletin, MyBB and finally my favourite script IPB. I've been using IPB since 2007 so I have decent knowledge in what I'm doing with IPB. I also fancy myself a bit of a graphic artist, I studied content creation and media, and recently got my first teaching certificate (as well as some of other stuff too, but tryin' to keep it relevant).

I've been a creator and leader of several online communities and projects over the years, and contributed to many more. My first moderator gig was one for an online game I played. I had a rocky start with the community, but slowly gained respect and trust within the community, it was during this time when I got my first taste of being a webmaster after a friend and I began decided to make a website where we released custom skins and texture changes for a game we played called "BOTS!!" on a free forum provider.

After a couple months I was convinced by my friend to try moving over to a host where we installed and worked with a script we installed and that was SMF. As we got more, and more confident we switched over the vBulletin as we found the addon and mods easier to install and manage. Once we got used to that and we decided to give ourselves a fresh start, my want for something more visually appealing lead us to using IPB, and while it was a bit of a learning curve for us at the time with v2 being a nightmare to mod at times, we found it worth it as the interface and feel of the script was cleaner and easier to get around.

I never went into great detail when it came to modifying and messing around with elements of website scripts. I started dabbling into the code back when I had vB websites, then when the switch to IPB happened I began tinkering around with that and found it easier. Over time I got pretty good at moving stuff around, and modifying the look of elements and mods in the postbit to get them displayed how I wanted, even got to a point where I was able to splurge some of the themes I used together, which always resulted in unique and fun results. In short; I'm the kinda guy that works with what's already there whenever possible.

Fast forwarding to now... I've been focusing on education and other projects. Something that has never left me is my love for IPB. A current project me and a good friend are co-hosts on at the moment is something I am working on. It takes us across many public platforms (YouTube and sites of the like) and I look forward to making a community website for that when the time comes... IPB is the way to go!
