  1. Good to hear. Glad everyone's finding a use for this modification. It also works with the latest release of the free version. I'll be testing it soon on the premium version of the addon.
  2. This might be a long shot but, does anyone have Kitchen Sink 24? The most recent version? Before I upgraded from 4.2, I discovered that the version of KS I had at the time, was simply not compatible with IPS 4.4.x. https://invisioncommunity.com/files/file/8244-kitchen-sink/ If anyone does have this, I would be very grateful. ??
  3. Oops. I forgot to add that one in that tutorial I posted yesterday. ? I changed mine from "Chatbox " to "Shoutbox". ?
  4. Maybe not but my reply was an honest remark ... trying to alleviate the atmosphere in the room. Thought someone would recognize the humor in my comment. Guess not.?
  5. All I can say is, "I hope you realize what you got yourself into".
  6. For my community, I try to provide one or two light skins and dark skins. Everyone has their preferences and I found that some people might be sensitive to bright light which is why I provide dark skins as well. Dark skins are also easier on my eyes as well, since I have light sensitivity.
  7. Welcome back. It's easy to do, find the Support and Tutorials forums and just add something constructive by posting some help or creating a tutorial that might not be posted here.
  8. Just an easy edit for those who are looking to display the chat textbox at the bottom of Chatbot while having the most recent messages appear at the top of the chatbox. While there isn't an option to enable chatbox this way, this is just a minor edit that requires editing the HTML of the template bit for Chatbox and these steps will point you in the right direction: find the template or skin you want to edit (ensure you have the Chatbox installed first, or you won't be able to edit the plugin), click on the option to edit the HTML and CSS find the bimchatbox template bit (it should be located at the very top of the window on the left side click on front, chat and then edit the 'main' template bit what you want to look for is the following code: if settings.chatbox_conf_ordertop != 1 rename ordertop to orderbottom there are three instances of this in the same template bit, just rename each of the three "ordertop" instances to "orderbottom" this will position the textbox near the bottom of the Chatbox widget/window save the changes you just made go into the Chatbox settings (Community > Chatbox > Settings under the "General" tab, enable the option "newer messages in top" That's all there is to it. When you look at your Chatbox, the textbox (where you enter your message) should appear at the bottom of the Chatbox window and the most recent messages should be displayed at the top of the window. Removing the "load more messages" indicator in Chatbox Now, if you would like to remove that annoying warning message "load more messages", while you're still in the "Main" template bit under "bimchatbox", look for the following code: <div id='loadMore' data-action='loadMore' class='ipsAreaBackground_light ipsPad_half ipsType_center ipsCursor_pointer'>{lang="cb_loadmore"}</div> You can either remove the code, or simply remark it out by adding <!-- at the start of the strong and --> at the end of the string. This will remove the "load more messages" indicator from your chatbox.
  9. I'm not logged into my ACP right now but this is a template customization issue. What you want to do is edit the template, not the HTML and CSS. Click on the pencil icon that allows you to edit the name of your skin/template. You'll see a number of tabs, there are two tabs, "Front End Colors" and "Text". They control the various color options for font colors on your board index.
  10. There are a few options you can try: login into your forum's ACP and run recache, if you don't have that, then run the Support tool if the error is persistant, log into the control panel for your site, if you are on a Linux server, log into cPanel, run the repair tool on your database, if there's an error or your database is corrupted, the repair tool will find it and repair the error then run the install/upgrade again, hopefully, running these tools will have fixed the problem
  11. I think IPS has an option to where you can either choose the reputation system or you can choose the like system but that has to be done from the ACP. Here's where it is: Members > Member Settings > Reputation and Reactions From there, you just enable or disable what you need. Disabling reactions won't disable reputation and vice versa. Hope that helps.
  12. The first thing you should always do is a complete backup of your server files and folders and your databases. But, you can do a straight upgrade to 4.4.1. The only problem is if youo're upgrading from IPB 2.3 to 4.4.1, then you'd need to upgrade in a number of steps, which you wouldn't be able to do a straight upgrade then.
  13. I'm trying to find what you're looking for but there used to be a plugin that allowed an IPB owner to setup personal messages so that you had to have a certain number of posted messages before you could send a PM/DM. Give me a day or two and I'll see what I can do in finding what it was. There is an option that allows you to restrict, per day, on how many PMs can be sen, daily, per usergroup. But, you're asking for something that restricts an individual member from sending PMs until they reach a certain post count.
  14. I have to admit that yeah, it could be his web hosting that's causing it. My current webhost, I had similar problems and realized that it was due to the lack of upgrades with my webhost. When they upgraded their servers by upgrading their CPUs on their servers, I saw minimal server lag and the server lag I would experience would come from other idiots on the same server who were abusing system resources. It's not the IPS software that's the problem but when you experience lag, you don't associate it with your webhost.
  15. More than likely, soon as they get a copy of it. I don't have a license to Commerce so I couldn't help out there. I just have an IPS license to Board/Gallery and Content/Pages.
  16. Have you tried clearing the cache in ACP? Perhaps even optimizing IPS from your ACP as well as from the control panel on your site? You should be able to run "repair" on your database from within your site/server's control panel. Also, you should be able to clear the cache in IPS from the IPS ACP. I would clear the cache first and then run the repair utility within your site's control panel. I ran into problems before during an upgrade and running that repair tool ended up fixing my problems so I could repair the problem and finish the upgrade.
  17. The Support tool is used for determining problems with your installation but I believe that it's tied to a legally purchased license. I've had a license to IPS for a long time. But, is the support tool just not running at all for you or is it not working because it's checking for a license key? I know when I run it on my site, if I don't see a solution, it directs me to IPS Support. But, it sounds like 4.3.6 is telling you that a new update is available (like from IPS since you asked if there was an update for Commerce).
  18. Still cannot believe I've been using Invision Power Board for as long as I have been. My community celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.
  19. I've decided to re-introduce myself after a long absence. Can't wait to get back into the swing of things.
  20. I couldn't find a solution, but I found a link to Invisionize that may help you out: https://forum.invisionize.pl/topic/51202-how-to-redirect-user-after-login/
  21. Exactly. Language packs can only be disabled in the ACP, and you just set the Turkish language pack (remember, it needs to be installed first) as the only language pack. If you want to include English as a language pack, select Turkish as the default language.
  22. Don't mention it. Just one of those things where I wanted to share with everyone else. I just hated the rollover drop down menus. It's simple html code. It took some time to find the code for the navigation menu and it was then just a simple matter of adding html code for the links. Since my members don't use "activity streams", I just decided to leave those links out.
  23. @DomP Cool. This was just one the small modifications that I created myself to work on my community. I thought I'd share it with everyone here. I'll edit my post above to clarify the "navbar" template so that others won't be so confused. I've edited the original post to explain where and how to find the template bit. I realized the instructions may have been a bit confusing after I read your post.
