As @killshandra stated, it is more than likely an issue with a member id or possibly a member group that is assigned to a member, but no longer exists. Also, you should try to update the plugin to the latest version if possible.
To change the margins of the whole forum, edit the settings of that theme and go into the "Custom" tab. It should allow you to change the width of the forum by percentage or amount of pixels.
If you're trying to change the margins of the main area, you can find and change the padding;
