  6. Yes, that is what this community is primarily based upon to say the least. You will find below on the index page that you can find either find support, tutorials, requests etc., on a numerous amounts of software such as IPB, XenForo etc.

  8. Yes, in a way. Instead of a separate app, we now have (by default) an enhanced "follow" system that we can expand upon with a few plugins that allow you to select, specifically, what content you'll be alerted to when it is created by specific users. i.e. Say I follow you on IPS4. I can choose to receive notifications when you post a new topic, a response to a topic, and a status update. Or, if I really like someone's file submissions, I can choose to only be notified of their file submissions. Fancy stuff!

  9. Is there a friends feature for 4.0 yet? Not asking you guys to put anything on hold for it, but I'm just asking. It is one of my favorite features to use on the board.

  10. If that's the case then by all means, go for the upgrade.

  11. We have looked into the hooks we currently use and either an updated version or at least a better alternative is available for IPS4 if it is not already included in IPB 4.x as standard. However As Davlin said earlier, we certainly can't put our future on hold for a few apps/hooks that may or may not be upgraded for 4.x either. In short, WebFlakes features that we all know and love will still be here when we upgrade. Thanks everybody for your input, please continue with any other queries, questions or opinions, it really is useful feedback. Kingy

  12. This is an IP Board issue with the file system, build 4.0.6 fixes it. If you still have the issue after updating to 4.0.6 then in ACP you go to support -> something is not working

  13. Even in it's infant form, 4.x branch is more secure than the 3.x branch, it's filesystem and classes, framework has security at it's core where 3.x has "tacked on" security patches all over it like a frankenstein monster, not to mention XSS and Sql dump protections in the core like php filter_input(),strip_tags(), htmlspecialchars(), etc. These all come from learning from the 3.x branch and it's problems and php 5.x and HTML5 and CSS3 coming into play as the now technologies to be using, if you don't embrace these, you will get left behind, these technologies change very fast and you can't afford not to or you get lost. A lot of the needed "applications" are now integrated into 4.x and you will find redundant applications on the transfer regardless. But testing on a beta board is suggested and recommended even by ipb.
