  1. Username: Sanctuary First Name: Sanc (I'd prefer not to post my real name on a forum) Age: 17 Rate your English out of 10: 9 Additional languages spoken: Portuguese Software specialization: Invision Power Board, MyBB Detail your Moderator experience: I've had experience with forum moderation for quite some time now. I've been an Admin, Developer, Global/Super Moderator and many other positions on a vast number of forums these past few years, so I know how to play each and every role very well. I'm currently an Admin (Developer mainly) on a site with almost 4K members, I've been an admin on other boards with a few hundred members involved, and other small sites/projects. I've also owned a few forums with some friends here and there. Other qualifications (such as programming languages, CMS, etc): I've had over 2 years of experience with IP.Board and MyBB. I would give myself a minimum rating of 8/10 for IP.Board and a 7/10 rating with MyBB. I've also had over 2 years of experience with HTML & CSS, and a year's experience with jQuery. I've ripped, modified, and created a numerous amount of HTML/CSS templates, IP.Board skins, and MyBB themes throughout the years, I've also made a few small hooks for IPB ( others were either for myself or a paid mod for someone else). I've also made a few custom skin modifications recently, a few of which I personally haven't seen on an IP.Board skin. What can you bring to the team? My experience and knowledge with IPB and HTML/CSS can be useful around the forums for answering support questions or making tutorials. I also almost always have a good amount of free time sometime throughout the day, meaning I can check WF occasionally nearly daily, along with my moderation experience and skills to accompany my online time here. Why do you want to become a Junior Moderator? N/A

  2. QUOTE from the official forum topic over at IPS: We are releasing patches for IP.Board 3.3.x and IP.Board 3.4.x to address two issues recently reported to us. It has been brought to our attention that certain PHP configurations allow for a potential SQL injection vulnerability. Although this exploit requires some knowledge of your configuration and for certain files to be web-readable, we felt it important to release an update. Additionally, it has been brought to our attention that it may be possible to send attachments via the email classes which would ordinarily be removed. To apply the patch Simply download the attached zip for your IP.Board version and upload the files to your forum server. You do not need to run any scripts or the upgrade system. IP.Board 3.3.x 3_3_x_patch_nov_14.zip (36.87KB) IP.Board 3.4.x 3_4_x_patch_nov_14.zip (37.79KB) If you are an IPS Community in the Cloud client running IP.Board 3.3 or above, no further action is necessary as we have already automatically patched your account. If you are using a version older than IP.Board 3.3, you should contact support to upgrade. If you install or upgrade to IP.Board 3.4.7 after the date and time of this post, no further action is necessary as we have already updated the main download zips. We extend our thanks to Andrew Erb for notifying us of the email issue privately and promptly.

  3. Junior Moderator Program WebFlake is seeking knowledgeable, enthusiastic and impartial members who are interested in assisting with our everlasting battle against "spammers", "rule breakers", and general "bad guys"! Not long ago, we launched our Junior Moderator program that allows us to recruit and evaluate potential full-time Moderators. If you believe you're up for the task, we'd love to hear from you. What does a Junior Moderator do? Junior Mods will be tasked with handling daily duties, such as.. Downloading, scanning, and approving (or deleting) submitted resources Moving Answered support topics to appropriate forum Marking support topics as resolved and moving them Locking, moving, and editing various topics Flagging spam bots as spam accounts Issuing appropriate warnings when necessary Reviewing and handling of reports Interacting with the community What can't a Junior Moderator do? Junior Mods, while granted access to a wide variety of tools and permissions, do have a few limitations, such as.. Inability to soft or hard delete topics / posts Inability to hide / unhide topics Inability to pin / unpin topics Inability to view IP Addresses Wait, why do we need "Junior" Moderators when the rest of Staff does all of that already? The Junior Mod program offers us the ability to evaluate potential full-time Moderators with limited access. Everything a Junior Mod does is reversible, therefore no harm can be done by recruiting potentially disastrous applicants (which simply doesn't happen). In the event a Junior Mod impresses us, we will promote them to a full-time position as a Moderator. Should the Junior Mod fail to impress us, we simply move them back to their original usergroup. Are there any perks to the job? No, and you shouldn't expect any. The position is completely volunteer. You will gain unfettered access to nearly all areas of the forum. You'll also have a shiny new Junior Moderator title and username color affixed to your profile. What are the expectations? Aside from meeting discretionary criteria, we only ask that you devote a respectable amount of time to fulfilling your role. We won't require you to fill a quota or log a specific amount of hours but if we find that you're failing to meet reasonable standards, you will be dismissed from the team. Also, while a basic understanding of moderation tools is expected, we are fully committed to educating and mentoring you throughout your time as a Junior Moderator. What is this criteria you speak of? It's completely discretionary. Only Staff are privy to what it is. How long will I be a Junior Moderator? This will vary by user. We've had Junior Moderators who had immediate impact that couldn't be ignored and earned their promotion within a week. We've also had a few who spent several weeks at the Junior Mod position only to be dismissed or eventually acclimate and earn the promotion to Moderator. Please be aware that performing hundreds of tasks in a week won't guarantee a promotion. We are seeking a variety of characteristics and if you do not possess them, you will not be promoted. Also note that promotions can sometimes be affected by need (or lack thereof) at the Moderator position. Prerequisites Must have at least 50 posts Must be 16 years of age or older Must be able to read and write in English Must have have a basic understanding of moderation and the tasks associated with it Must have a Discord account (and have joined the WebFlake Discord Server) for off-site Staff communication [Microphone preferred, but not needed] Must not have held a Junior Moderator position within the last year Additional Notes: Please do not apply if you are affiliated with any other site similar to WebFlake. This application process can be adjusted at any time, at Administration's discretion. It is your responsibility to ensure you're updated with the information provided. 4. Looks nice. I also like two of the same screens, it gets annoying if you have two different ones.

  5. Not bad. But , since you're making it a dark skin you should make the text white so it can show properly (especially the replies and topics part)

  7. Username: c0w First Name: Luke Age: 17 Rate your English out of 10: 10 Additional languages spoken: I can speak little german in some senorios Software specialization: IPB/MyBB Detail your Moderator experience: My past mod experience is very little, this is because I am into creating websites so therefore I have a top role, you could class it as a Super Moderator etc. I know how to appropriately deal with users and invalid posts on a forum. Other qualifications (such as programming languages, CMS, etc): I can code basic CSS and some C++ (I shall rate myself 8/10). I am very good with MyBB as I have used it many times in the past. What can you bring to the team? If I joined the team, I think I would bring a lot of dedication. I would be on regularly throughout the day as I do my college work at home this means I can pop on and checkup on WF. Why do you want to become a Junior Moderator? I have always wanted to improve my role here at WebFlake, even at forumcore! I hope my chance has come.

  8. Terribly sorry that we haven't seen this post earlier. New signups, support topics and what not tend to bury each new intro post. Nevertheless, welcome to WebFlake! Be sure to have a look at the Community Guidelines and our Frequently Asked Questions, both of which are linked to in my signature.
