Possible idea would be to limit the downloads per day and tie them to posts. Think x post(s) per allowed download.3 points

Another note here, you may find what you are looking for in our marketplace! Many users have setup hosting services that allow the use of nulled IPB. You might even find a discount code or a free month of hosting so you can 'Try before you buy!'2 points

Hello fellow Flakers, Besides the here & there help I've provided for those that have created a topic seeking assistance, I feel I have not really contributed much to this great community. So I am going to give back by providing some great SEO tools & knowledge from both the White Hat & Black Hat perspective. (Black Hat <3) I have not seen a full blown SEO Help topic here & I see a lot of newcomers to the world of hosting, owning, running a website so I hope this can help. White Hat First off Get yourself a Google Webmaster Account & Bing/Yahoo Webmaster Account also get a Google Analytics Account (its the best imo) & Signing up for Bing/Yahoo ADS gets you a 50$ advertisement credit, even if people dont click a % of impressions are people that might have seen your site. The webmaster accounts allow you to upload sitemap files specifically designed for bots to crawl. They provide very good data on how many search impressions you receive, what is clicked most, as well as getting your website into 3 of the most popular search engines. You can have a sitemap made for free at many sitemap generating websites who abide by the guidelines of google & bing, here is an example site that I use. http://www.web-site-map.com/ You will want to index as many pages as possible & its best to select directories / pages with a lot of content and links. After tracking this info through your webmaster accounts you will get a grip on what people are looking for and what brings you the most traffic. This is key, especially when it comes to Meta Tags and the display of your website in the search engines. With meta tags you can add a title, description & keywords. (All hidden on the face of the website but the Title & Description appear in the search engine) This will show your site in an organized fashion in the search engines & allows you to dictate what appears. <head> <title> Your Website </title> <meta name="description" content="Keyword 1, Keyword 2, Keyword 3, ETC, Seperate using commas"> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8"> </head> Next Up is social networking (If you want to advertise what your doing) Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit, etc. Posting content on a daily basis, followers or not, is a great way to get recognized and the more sites linking in to your website out there the better. Bots will crawl and Bots will see. Black Hat To get views and ranked fast, this is the way to go but every rose has its thorn, some of these methods will indeed boost your site ranking, but some things might suffer like your bounce rate & time spent on the site. Here are some great websites AlexaBoostup.com Essentially this works as long as people use it. It works off a point system, you are give 500 points to start & each point spent is a view from somebody else, you can gain points by viewing others and every 90 seconds a new site appears. Each site you view you gain 1 point. You can just let this run all night gaining points & then during the day you can allow your points to be spent. This only works if you have the Alexa Toolbar installed but nonetheless it gets your website viewed and I vouch for it as it does work. Linkcollider.com This works in a similar manner to AlexaBoostup in terms of points but does not require the toolbar, it is a more general autosurf application and is not limited to websites. You can use this too boost all your social networks, and instead of people only viewing yourwebsite they can choose to retweet, like a facebook post, subscribe to your youtube, etc. Very Powerful tool. Pingfarm & IndexKings Ping farm allows you to add an unlimited amount of URLS and will ping search engines, enticing the bots to crawl as the ping signals the site has been updated, create a .txt file with the urls you want it to ping and ping it as many times as you would like. Index Kings allows you to add an unlimited amount of URLS and will then add links to at least 15,000 sites per URL. This is very powerful as the more sites your websites link appears on the more it will appear on search engines. The only other tip I have for Black Hat Seo is get this program called Tviewer. Seen here I'm not going to post a download link, you will have to find it on your own. Install Alexa & Quantcasts tags into your browser, Along with google analytics this will give you a well rounded perspective on your sites views. I hoped this is useful! I'm no expert, just a few tips that have worked for me. Less than 48 hours of my full blown SEO integration.1 point

It's that time again! We're rolling out a few more updates to the site, most of which are outlined below. Feel free to post any questions, comments, or concerns. I've removed the three previous Question & Answer challenge questions at the registration screen and replaced them with three new questions. I plan to add additional questions over the next few days. These questions will be progressively harder than previous iterations, solely as an effort to combat continued registrations by spam bots. Please remember to do your part and report spam posts / profiles as you see them! Regular members may no longer sell licences in our Marketplace. This includes licences for IPS, XenForo, or vBulletin. The risk of scamming is far too great, and neither of these companies officially support licence transfers. However, trusted members may continue to sell licences. What is a trusted member? Anyone belonging to the following usergroups: Staff (Admin, HM, Mod), Veteran, Support Team, Uploader, or Retired Staff. Essentially anyone but Members and +Donators. Also, our Marketplace now requires a minimum of fifteen (15) posts to create or reply to any topics there. This will not prevent users from viewing the topics, so if you list an external contact method, users will still be able to make an attempt to initiate a trade. We added this new restriction to prevent new users from offering services with their first post, and to bring our site-wide posting restrictions parallel to one another. As you should already be aware, to submit requests or use our shoutbox you are required to have fifteen (15) posts as well. Which brings me to... The previous post restriction for sending / receiving Private Messages on WebFlake has been increased from ten (10) to fifteen (15), to synchronize with other posting restrictions. New awards have been added to the site! See them all on our Awards page. New posting achievements as well! All awards except posting achievements and your award for your first upload have to be manually issued. If you believe you're missing an award, please contact an Administrator. Our Veterans usergroup has been purged and all retired Staff have been moved to their very own usergroup: Retired Staff. We've received a lot of feedback from the community about this, most of it not so enthusiastic about the current use of our Veterans usergroup. As a result, we're restoring that usergroup to the community and have even promoted Lock Down as its first member. Why are the colors so similar? Simple. Retired Staff are no different than our members. We don't want any presumed hierarchy between the two groups. The only difference between the two is extra perks, such as access to +Donator areas and expanded caps. They've all earned that much. New usergroup logo for Retired Staff: More updates in the coming days. Stay tuned!1 point

CometChat is not going to benefit WebFlake in anyway what so ever. I'm with Phun on the disagreement to CometChat. It looks horrid. It runs horrid it's just all in all a horrible peace of crap. For the activity of some members of the community, No one here can help that. You get no brainers who come here just to download free content because there too poor to actually purchase it them selves. Community's like this survive from loyal members and donations. Nothing more nothing less. It's a true fact. Look at countless other forum warez sites that have been online, and seen go offline within the space of a couple of months. Why is that? Like said above, it's because they don't have the loyal members to keep the site going with content. They don't have the donations to help keep the site going. They don't have the donations to provide the community with the content the members are wanting. They are all factors of why sites like this strive from there active / loyal members of the community. <else /> Site dies XD. Imho IPBCore, ForumCore & Webflake has stayed alive for this long sadly to say is because of the loyal members of the community that have stayed loyal to the community and have shared there mass amount of knowledge to other members of the community and providing others with content other's can't get there hands on them selves because of personal reasons like lack of money, no license for the forum board which then means to access to there marketplaces. To prevent stuff like this, To keep a community live and long living you need to pull a finger out your ass ( to put it blunt ). You need to make all the changes that need to be made. Webflake over the recent couple of months has made some great changes. Which is a good thing. But maybe some more needs to be done to keep the activity ( non spam activity ) at the top, where it needs to be. I'm guessing the members of staff need to get together and think of some more ways to keep the activity up and running. Maybe even if that means expanding to more category's than we have and promoting sectional moderators. ( not saying this is a way forward, just an example )1 point

Unfortunately, the only way to truly prevent cloning would be to create exclusive memberships. By imposing a much larger post restriction, we risk tarnishing the quality of the community by having to combat a flood of spam posts. I'd willingly sacrifice a large number of daily visitors in favor of a cleaner community. Otherwise, I'm putting an enormous workload on the team's shoulders. The best way to combat these clones is to let our members choose for themselves. We acknowledge that there will be competition. We've crushed it all before. Clone sites on the other hand, are burner pages looking to make a quick dollar from an unsuspecting user. We go to great lengths to ensure our content is safe for our users, and always provide quality support. A site that looks identical to WebFlake by using the same skin, forum icons, category descriptions and layout should be self-explanatory: they're fraudulent.1 point

The hardware that I'd recommend is all down to the very top of your budget, without a budget you're going to end up with a very unbalanced built. Also, what games are you planning on playing? What else will you want with the build: Mouse Keyboard OS Monitor Anything else If you can get back to me I'll give you a build to suit your needs.1 point

We've tried something similar in the past, to no avail. Post requirements generally encourage spam. I put together a concept months ago, that would create a new "Lurker" group that has access only to our Intros forum. If the user makes a reasonable effort with their intro, we manually approve it and they're bumped to Member. This has its rewards and plenty of drawbacks. The problem with attempting to impose more restrictions, is that it usually serves as a deterrent. The problem isn't with our current design, it's what we offer. The fact that we're constantly combating duplicitous clones of WebFlake and those who seek to defraud our members is what really puts a strain on our community. This is about as cliche as Lindsay Lohan's promises of sobriety. Every community struggles, particularly those with a project focus such as ours: warez. Users will always be more interested in getting what they need and leaving. Most users will not want to create ties to a community that could potentially be traced back to their website(s), within reason. This isn't "new" knowledge either. We had less than five average users during the months of July / August last year. We boomed during the Fall. It's the nature of webmaster communities.1 point

For more in-depth customization, I recommend using Tom Christian's Offline Pages app.1 point

You have to change your site name in order for it to be "YourCommunityName is currently unavailable". This can be found in: System Settings > General Configuration and if you want to change the text below that, you have to go to: System Settings > Community Offline/Online and edit the "The offline message to display" field.1 point

I loath these sort of announcements. They come with baggage and unnecessary spectacle. Alas, I believe in transparency and have promised as much before. I'm sure, by now, most of you were familiar with DragonVoid's recent promotion to Junior Moderator and the subsequent "controversy" being whispered about on the site. Allow me to clarify this: there is no controversy. A member of our team made an egregious decision to promote DragonVoid without putting him through our rigorous vetting process, which caused some concern within the team and some known annoyance among other members. Mistakes happen. We're all human. We need to learn from them and move on and assure history does not repeat itself and that we don't set unfortunate precedents. In fairness to the community and to the rest of our team, DragonVoid has been moved back to his original +Donator usergroup until we deem that we're in need of another Staff member, at which point he will have an opportunity to present himself yet again, and earn the position. This does not imply that he is guaranteed the spot, nor does it imply he is automatically disqualified from it. We currently have nine total members on the WebFlake Staff team (including myself and Phun). When evaluating our daily numbers, our current team is more than sufficient to ensure WebFlake continues to function smoothly and efficiently. I have the utmost confidence in our current team, as they have placed their confidence in me as well. With that said, on behalf of the entire team, I'd like to extend our sincerest apologies to both DragonVoid and the WebFlake community for any confusion. This demotion has nothing to do with any actions or a lack thereof on the part of DragonVoid, but moreover a simple misunderstanding. We all wish DragonVoid the best of luck in earning the next available position, and thank him for his continued support of WebFlake!1 point

Hello guys. I really like this forum cause it's helpful and i can find a lot of things for my needs here but i've check the activity and it's kinda low and i speak for activity on topics/posts and no members online. So why i believe this "problem" exist here? You can download from here things that you have to pay them on official product forums or any other sites and in order to download something you just need to register and make one post (the most of people make topic on introduce section). I think this is kinda bad for the forum activity cause they just register here they make one topic and then they start download things and never help or posting anything on forums and that's kinda bad. So what i suggest? Make it like you need 25 posts (the first award) in order to check that someone is active and help the community so if he will help the community you will help him too with the power of download. And also he will still have the power to start topics in order to ask help for something. Dunno if it's good for you guys i'm not so pro on communities like this but i just wanted to suggest something in order to improve the activity cause i really like this forum! Regards Jeiko.0 points

WebFlake is failing slowly. This is for various reasons but I'm not going to go into them.0 points
