  1. We've recently begun rolling out some new updates for the community and I'd like to share what most of these new updates are. Post Requirement to use Personal Messenger This is long overdue. New members will now need at least ten (10) non-spam posts to send personal messages. Users will still be able to receive them. "Update" Reply to Support Topics when a file is updated When a file within our database is updated by the original submitter (or Staff), an auto-generated "this file has been updated" will be added to the topic. Similar Topics When submitting support or file requests, users will be prompted to review a list of potentially similar topics (this has also been extended to other areas such as our Webmaster Lounge). Hopefully, this will help cut down on the high number of duplicate topics that we often receive. With this new system in place, anyone found to be posting duplicate topics are subject to having their topic deleted. Habitual offenders are likely to receive a posting suspension. Personal Font Styles +Donators and Veterans will notice a new PFS setting tab located within their profile settings that will allow them to change their default text styling in various areas throughout the forum (notably topic view). This only applies to your individual content, not the entirety of the site. Yes, your chosen PFS will display to others. Please remember that our Guidelines still apply, so obnoxious styling will result in your privileges being revoked. Also Note: in order to use custom styling, you must un-check "Use Board's Default Font Color" (etc) within your PFS settings. Topics flagged for Lock & Delete Later This is a new moderation tool for our Staff team that will be noticed by the community. Staff now has the capability to lock a topic and flag it for auto-deletion at a later time (currently set to one week). As I outlined in a previous update post, we have a myriad of reasons for that and I won't outline them here, but I wanted to make everyone aware that it's now implemented. New Reputation Levels Thanks to TJKeeran, we now have a slew of new reputation levels (slightly modified). These were added mostly for fun, and we may use these new levels to promote contests, awards, rewards, and perhaps even use it when reviewing accounts (i.e. don't earn negative rep). We encourage everyone to make use of the Like / Dislike system as permissions permit. The current levels are as follows (and subject to change): -100 Malicious -75 Outcast -50 Troll -40 Obnoxious -30 Rude -20 Bad -10 Poor 0 Neutral 10 Fair 20 Good 30 Upstanding 40 Reputable 50 Distinguished 75 Excellent 100 Outstanding 200 Accomplished 300 Extraordinary 400 Exemplary 500 Illustrious 1000 Prominent 2500 Legendary 5000 Mythical

  2. Compatibility IP.Board 3.4.X Possibly IP.Board 3.2 and 3.3, but not sure. This skin edit WILL BREAK with IPS Suite 4.0. This tutorial will show you how to set custom forum icons without the need for a modification like Forum Icons. This is a very simple skin edit and can be done by anyone. Getting Started: In your AdminCP, navigate to Look & Feel > Manage Skin Sets & Templates > Your Skin. In the templates section, under Board Index, you'll see a file called boardIndexTemplate. Click this. Select all the code in the file and completely remove it. Replace all the code with this: The settings needed to setup the forum icons have already been done for you. There are some additional options at the top of the file. If you would like to use those too, feel free to do so. Setting it Up: Now, in your FTP client, navigate to /public/style_images/Your_Skin Create a new directory called "forum_images". On your forum, open up the forum you want to apply the icon to. Look at the URL. There will be a number, for example: forum.com/forum/2-announcements-and-updates/ You will be looking for "2" or whatever number is there (it changes per forum since every forum has a unique ID). Get the image you want to set as a forum icon (NOTE: The image must be 32x32, no larger). In your FTP client, navigate to /public/style_images/Your_Skin/forum_images. Upload the image you want to set as a forum icon to this directory. In this case, we would need to name the file "2.png" because the forum ID is 2. The picture must be in PNG format and the name must be whatever number the forum ID is (number). You're done. Refresh the page to see the icon. If the icon does not show up immediately, do a hard refresh or clear your cache. The instructions for this vary by what browser you're using. If you have any questions, concerns, or need some help, please make a post in this topic. Please note that this code has NOT been adapted for the IPB mobile skin, and never will be adapted for the mobile skin. Please see my post for more info.

  3. Website Link - http://mvpxc.com Date of Creation - May 25th, 2013 Site Description - MvPxC is currently a pure gaming site. However we are slowly transitioning into a more interactive gaming site. Number of Members - 972 What i'm really looking for - Ways to improve the site. As of now we have a custom theme but for some reason we still aren't getting a lot of active members. We will go through periods of getting active members and periods of only having 3 - 4 active members. There's could be tons of reasons but i don't know them. Which is why i'm posting here So how can i improve my site?

  4. search nav_app_forums in globaltemplate then add a code below, or above depending on where in the navigation you want to place it but it should look like this <li id="nav_app_forums" class=" "><a href="http://www.webflake.net/index.php?/index" title="Go to Forums">Forums</a></li> but change the link and the "go to forums" & "Forums" Alternativly, if you don't want to keep adding buttons by coding, and make your life a lot easier, if you have IP.Content installed use the Navigation Menu editor which allows you to add buttons, drop down menu's etc.. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you don't have IP.Content, you can download ProMenu from the link below. This hook is an extremely good hook to modify your navigation menu as you can customize it to the max adding really good features to your nav. Have a look through the pictures on the link above, download it and install it! By all means you may continue to add your buttons 'The Traditional way' if you prefer, just opening your options to other hooks that might be useful. Thanks, Kingy The question(s) in this support topic have been answered and the owner has been able to solve the problem. Because of this, the support topic has been closed and moved. 6. In order for Members and Donators to view our Shoutbox, you must now have at least 15 non-spam posts. Veterans and Staff of course, are not subject to this.

  7. Hmm.. very odd that the site is slow for you. No one else have been having issue for the site. Normally if the site doesn't load then it's do to us being attacked by someone but lately the site have been fine. Can you try now and let me know? I didn't copy TTG's rule. I didn't write the rules for the site. I had someone else write the rules but thanks for pointing this out. I will address this.

  15. Ok this answered mod leaves a lot to desire. I see many topics closed before a reply is made from the member who started it. This is very aggravating because when I come back to see if they have been answered by the member and if the solution was correct they are gone. I have to search the answered section and some seem to be closed before the member sees it. I am guessing it is because they didn't see it or click the answered button.

  16. I agree, my topic got taken as answered 1 hour after one of the replies was added. And that reply didn't even solve it, it's VERY Annoying. - I always click solveed/answered..

  17. I personally prefer Android over any iPhone. I got both my parents iPhone 4's and they both said they would have preferred to have their Android back. My brother-in-law got the new iPhone though and I played around with it and it does seem to have a few improvements. So if I were to chose an iPhone, I would go for the 5th edition.
