Prior to moving to Moderator, I was a Donator. Been a Donator for nearly a year (including my time on ForumCore). I literally just answered the exact same question just above your post... REVIEW THE THREAD!2 points

The opening of the post...."Tested in IPB version 3.3.x" That would suggest it's been tested with 3.3.x, and likely NOT tested with 3.4.x. Backup your files before making any changes, and have at it. If it doesn't work, feel free to report back here with your results.2 points

If those are the correct table names then you can use this mysql query in the acp sql toolbox or phpmyadmin. Be sure to backup or export the profile_portal table first.. update profile_portal set thanked = (select thanked from members where pp_member_id = member_id)2 points

How to minimize spam registrations on your forum Hello guys, Phun here with another quick tutorial on how to minimize spam registrations on your forum. You know those pesky spam bots that post ads? With a few quick fixes to your site you can stop them from registering. Or, at least, most of them. Step 1. Check if you have CAPTCHA set up By default it is set-up but you might just wanna take a peek and see if it's done. In the admin CP go to: System Settings -> System -> Security & Privacy You can now also check your registration page to see if you indeed have the reCAPTCHA form on there. Step 2. Set up a Question and Answer challenge This is something i've done a lot on forums. It presents the person that fills in the form with a question, which they have to answer. If they get the answer wrong, they can't register, if they get it right: hurrah! System -> Tools & Settings -> Question & Answer Challenge Step 3. Require e-mail validation (or manual approval) This one is optional but also can help a lot in the combat against spambot registrations. You can set your forum up so that all registrants are placed in a validation group before they can post stuff etc. System Settings -> System -> Security & Privacy What you set the incomplete registration validation removal to is up to you, i'd say 7 is a good number. (Optional) Step 4. Get the StopForumSpam Plugin StopForumSpam is widely known to keep a huge database with IP addresses and emails of well known spambots, installing this plugin can surely help you combat spam. It automatically denies registration of the known spambots so you won't have to worry about a thing. You can get it here: And that's it guys, i hope you found this tutorial useful in some way. © Phun ~ WebFlake.net - If you want to share this tutorial, please leave our credits in here.1 point

It appears you have HTML usage disabled for Members (which can be toggled in Member permissions).1 point

Yes, this works. The user who initially made the request for this tutorial uses IP.Board 3.4.x.. unless you're using 3.3.x, I'm certain this tutorial works.1 point

Care to elaborate on what you mean by "ending the comment lines"? When commenting material out, you absolutely must close out the comment or you risk commenting out the entirety of the file.1 point

Mk, I will help Sgt. Battlegear is not that hard to edit. I can make it look really well. We can talk on skype, pm me for details.. it will have to be tmoro when we fully talk, but I can hook u up1 point

I am not trying to be mean here, but do you even realize how ridiculous this topic is? While we can assume that you are using IPB 3.4.x (because that is what is in your profile), we have no idea what kind of help you need. [*]You went through over 100 IPB skins and couldn't find one you want to keep. Well, that seems rather odd to me. [*]Without knowing what skins you went through . . and based on the sheer volume of skins you went through . . . there's a really good chance that any skin someone recommends will be one that you have already looked at. [*]The fact that you looked at over 100 skins and couldn't find one you wanted to keep kind of tells me that this is an exercise in futility. [*]Based on your original post, we have no idea what kind of website you have. So, it would be stupid to recommend a gaming skin if your site is about basket weaving.1 point

Use ftp to delete the hook from your hook folder and see if that helps. BTW, you have more issues then this if a simple hook effects your site like this. Try repairing your database thru phpmyadmin.1 point
-
If you're referring to the (RC34) Youtube Videos In Profile 2.0.0 I uploaded, it was downloaded from the IPS marketplace so, contact the hook author at http://rawcodes.net and report your issue. Or, as Sanctuary alluded to, it could be conflicting with something else you have installed.1 point

Oh! My apologies.. I assumed you had BBCode confused for CSS.. you actually DO need CSS added. This tidbit is included in the ReadMe file contained within the package.. Step 1: Import (if you have already completed this step, skip it!)Login to your Admin CP and go to the Look & Feel tab. In this tab, click BBCode Management. At the end of this page, find Upload XML BBCode List, select the XML included in this zip and click Import! Step 2: Adding CSSIn your Admin CP, go to Look & Feel, tab, click on Your Skin, CSS tab -> There you will Add CSS File name it SOS_BBCodes and add: .noticeui{ background: url(http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/4026/noticebg.png) repeat-x 0 0; color: #FFF; width: 83%; font-weight: normal; padding: 13px 15px 0; margin-bottom: 2.5em; -moz-border-radius: 6px; -webkit-border-radius: 6px; border-radius: 6px; -moz-box-shadow: 1px 1px 2px rgba(0,0,0,.4); -webkit-box-shadow: 1px 1px 2px rgba(0,0,0,.4); box-shadow: 1px 1px 2px rgba(0,0,0,.4); position: relative; left: 34px;} .noticeui p { margin-bottom: 1.5em; }.noticeui p:last-child { margin-bottom: 0; } .noticeui ul { margin-left: 8px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; }.noticeui ul:last-child { margin-bottom: 0; } .noticeui li { background: url(http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/9923/noticetabs.png) no-repeat 0 -95px; list-style-type: none; padding-left: 18px; margin-bottom: .75em; } .noticeui-success li { background-position: 0 -95px; } .noticeui-warn li { background-position: 0 -895px; } .noticeui-error li { background-position: 0 -495px; } .noticeui-info li { background-position: 0 -1295px; } .noticeui h5 { font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; margin-bottom: .65em; } .noticeui span { background: url(http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/9923/noticetabs.png) no-repeat 100% 0; width: 33px; height: 40px; position: absolute; left: -34px; top: 9px; } .noticeui-success { background-color: #EEF4D4; color: #596C26; border: 1px solid #8FAD3D; } .noticeui-success span { background-position: 100% 0; }.noticeui-warn { background-color: #FFEA97; color: #796100; border: 1px solid #E1B500; } .noticeui-warn span { background-position: 100% -800px; }.noticeui-error { background-color: #EFCEC9; color: #933628; border: 1px solid #AE3F2F; } .noticeui-error span { background-position: 100% -400px; }.noticeui-info { background-color: #C6D8F0; color: #285797; border: 1px solid #4381CD; } .noticeui-info span { background-position: 100% -1200px; }} Save the file.1 point

It's no problem. ACP > Forums > Topic Multi-Moderation Click on - Add New Multi-Moderation After you configure the options for the moderation, at the bottom of the page you'll see "Post Options". Make sure Add a reply to the topic is marked Yes, and then add to the text field: [success=Resolved]Your text here[/success] The above example will create a notification with "Resolved" as the title, and of course, your text in the box.1 point
-
I think he is asking how to actually make use of the notifications themselves... @Omgrazza - you'd likely want to add them to Topic Multi-Moderation in your ACP. This will allow you to toggle a post in topic view, and "mark" it with one of your custom notifications (similar to how you pin threads).1 point

It's just a simple compatibility issue (3.3.x > 3.4.x) with the app.. I believe it was a bug fix recently applied that hasn't been updated here on WebFlake just yet. Use /* and */ around the lines. So for example.. if I wanted to comment out this line: public class NewsGump : Gump I'd add those comment markers: /*public class NewsGump : Gump*/ Do the same with those lines above... which would look like: /*$editor_content = IPSText::getTextClass('editor')->processRawPost('description');$description = IPSText::getTextClass('bbcode')->preDbParse($editor_content);*/1 point
-
That's an odd thing to say considering Gimp's UI is practically identical to Photoshop in every way. It's like buying two identical cars and claiming you only know how to drive one of them.1 point
-
Try commenting out the following lines from admin/applications_addon/other/classifieds/modules_admin/manage/categories.php on line 247 and 248.. $editor_content = IPSText::getTextClass('editor')->processRawPost('description');$description = IPSText::getTextClass('bbcode')->preDbParse($editor_content); Note: I make no guarantee that this will work, so BACKUP a copy of that file, before making the edit!1 point

lol! The whole "story" looks an awful lot like a child's show-n-tell short story. I can't imagine there are very many people gullible enough to believe that any competent law enforcement agency would "raid" a datacenter and "fail". Even their garbage snapshot looks like a lousy cut scene from 28 Days Later, with their 1980's gas masks and 17th century rubber toy shields. Just give it up already... This thread is here to discuss offshore hosting quality, not fanatical, imaginative stories.1 point

I read it.. it's just not the easiest to comprehend. Regardless, you still misunderstood the topic. It has nothing to do with whether or not you're using nulled content.. your issues are a result of using an app for 3.3.x while using a 3.4.x board. It appears there isn't a 3.4.x copy here on WebFlake.. it DOES exist however: http://community.invisionpower.com/files/file/3430-dp33-referrals-system/ You'll want to make a request for it in IP.Board Requests. Note: The Request areas on WebFlake require users to have a minimum of 15 constructive posts in order to post there. I say "constructive" as some users take it upon themselves to flood download threads with "thanks" posts to boost their post count, which is strictly prohibited. Have a look at this tutorial.. should be of some use. http://community.invisionpower.com/resources/documentation/index.html/_/knowledge-base/recurring-non-version-specific-issues/how-to-restore-the-english-us-language-pack-r5031 point
-
Well for starters, your profile lists your IPB version as 3.4.x, and the app is only compatible with 3.3.x. Furthermore, you misunderstood the responses of the users in the thread you linked to. Both were quite aware that you're using nulled content, and you requested support on an official IPS third-party page. Not too smart to hand out your board URL there. Lastly.. in the future, wrap your external links in code tags!1 point
-
As has already been noted, this issue needs to be addressed by your web host. It could be a corrupt MySQL database, or the servers themselves could be under heavy duress (i.e. not being quality hardware). Contact them, as there's nothing we can do here for you at WebFlake.. not when it pertains to your host. Best of luck! - Marking this resolved and moving it. Fairly certain the OP is requesting info on how to add a profile field for users to notate who referred them to his community. The app Sanctuary linked will do just that (plus so much more).1 point

Did a quick search, and sure enough, Gimp works with the MacOS. I wasn't aware that it did until now. http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ Evidently, the 2.8.2 version GIMP "runs on OSX natively so no X11 environment is required". My wife uses Gimp quite often and does some incredible work with it. It has a large majority of the tools Photoshop offers, minus some of the fancy stuff.1 point
-
Is that really necessary? The OP was merely asking for advice/recommendations on software that meets the average standards of Photoshop -- not what software to use in general. @xtraktor - Unfortunately I don't have any knowledge of the MacOS (strictly Windows/Linux), but hopefully someone will be able to offer some insight on compatible programs.1 point

Not sure I follow...? I'm referencing the location of the file, not whether the tutorial itself is difficult or not. You're simply commenting out two different sections, of course it's easy. When I glanced at the opening line, my initial reaction was to check the ACP.1 point
