I want to tell you about my ex-wife. She was a stunning beauty, and when she was in her early 20's, you could open up department store catalogs and see her picture everywhere. You could see her walking runways at local fashion shows in Atlanta. No, she wasn't famous, but she made an OK part-time career out of it. But the fact of the matter is that there are a lot of pretty girls out there. In fact, you could go to your local mall right now and I bet you will see a dozen girls who might be candidates to be Victoria's Secret models. My point is, a pretty girl is not difficult to find. My ex-wife was pretty, but I filed for divorce because that's all she was. These same kind of divorces happen with websites. You may see a lovely-looking website, and it may draw you in. But once you're there, you see that the website's interior is cold, empty or uninteresting . . . and you divorce yourself from that site. The point is simple. It's actually quite easy to create an aesthetically pleasing looking website. For example, you might have a fantastic logo, awesome forum icons and a custom-made skin - but without content, any website is, at its heart, ugly.

Disable all hooks for sure. Most 3rd party hooks will work fine, but there are some that can cause critical errors.

Always, always, always use the latest release. Make sure to keep your board updated and always install any security patches that become available.

Upload the image you want to use behind the text to your themes image directory. Now edit the member group then in "Group Formatting Prefix" put: <span style='background-image:url({style_images_url}/IMAGE_NAME.png);'> then in the "Group Formatting Suffix" put: </span>Check out my Donator ones at the bottom http://fragrepublic.com

I haven't used it so I don't know how it works. I wouldn't even use it. I would create a custom intro page, have those files in the root then all the forum files in root/forum directory.

Everyone needs to understand, the tutorial is based on the default skin and you may need to make adjustments for it to work properly on other skins. In other words, this is not a "one size fits all" solution for every skin. If you have no experience with html/css don't start complaining that it doesn't work. Learn, edit and it will work.
