Guest Jerison
I originally posted this on my forum, so I'ma just copy & paste. These are some of the things that my teachers acquired me over my last school year. I found these very unique and thought I would want to share it. These are pretty random things but they will help you very swell. Cornell NotesThe first thing I'd like to show you guys is Cornell Notes. These come in handy for some people but some they don't..I myself would rather do it the best way I know how which is in bullets and numbers. The idea of Cornell Notes is to make it easier for you to jot down notes while remembering them. These are also suppose to make it easier for you to study alone by enabling flipping. Here is what these look like: Post-it Notes While Reading Have you ever thought, wouldn't it be cool if you could make school work feel like you're having a discussion on a forum? In other words fun? Well this method should do just that.Basically all you're doing here and taking post-it notes and reading a paragraph out of a story and jotting down questions as you go along and seeing if the other paragraph answers your question you had in the previous paragraph. I know this idea may sound crazy but it works, I promise! I did this and remembered everything out of the story I had just read. This method has not only made it fun to read but it has also improved my reading skills.RATSWhat does RATS stand for?ReadAllTheStuffThis is a good method when taking a test. Make sure to have your pencil down as some people's brain finds it hard to think clearly when holding a pencil. I have listed this process in steps below, but first let me tell you what the goal of this method is suppose to do. This method is suppose to help your brain focus better and remember things easier while running faster.Step one: Read All the stuff. (Answers, questions, etc.)This allows you to see the answers to previous problems.Step two: Go back through and put a circle next to all the problems that will take you 30 seconds to a minute to do.Step three: Put a rectangle beside all the questions that you don't know.Step four: Put a check mark beside all the ones you know right off the bat.Step five: Do all the checked ones now.Step six: Do all the circled ones now.Step seven: Do all the rectangle ones now.Now you're done!I promise this will help if you do everything correct. This has helped me pass test allot this year. I knew all the questions in section one of my big end of the year test but my atterall wouldn't let me skip a question...I ran out of time and ended up having to guess on 15/30 questions in the first section. My teacher looked at me as I was crying and said rely on rats. I knew I had to get 17/30 correct questions in my next section in order to pass. I used RATS and now I passed by one question. RATS works. I promise. If you have any questions about any of these methods feel free to PM me. Thanks! Edited June 29, 2013 by Jerison
