Guest Hackless
Alright, first of all let me clarify I'm not trying to start a fight here. I'm just really curious who got the terrible idea to restrict the downloads. I've been on WebFlake since Forumcore, just over a year now actually, but I don't post much. I would very much like to donate but unfortunately that's not an option for me right now. What would make me like to donate is the fact that there are great resources here for free, with little to no restrictions. Until now, that is. I didn't think much when I heard there was a special downloads section for Donators being started. I figured, hey that's a decent idea, maybe more people will donate. But limiting people to 15 downloads a day? Especially using a system which is bugged and which IPB knows is bugged (Google IPB Download Limit bug, you'll see what I mean). Here's a prime example: I downloaded one theme today, Animate for 3.4.x IPB's. Installed it on this new forum I'm working on, and didn't like it. Came back, found another theme, clicked download, and... whats this? I've reached my download limit? It's not like I was on earlier downloading either, I haven't come to WebFlake in a few days as I haven't needed anything IPB related. Anyway, my two cents here is that there are better ways to encourage people to download... other than limiting them. Maybe a nagging screen when they go to download, a longer wait time for downloads, something... but having a downloads cap makes me want to go elsewhere. There are half a dozen reputable IPB modding/leaking sites out there, and I've been coming to FC/WF only because of the atmosphere here, but seems I will have to find a new place to get my forum resources. Friends of mine who use WF feel the same way, the downloads cap is bugged for them as well (one download and you hit your cap). Please, Phun, Paradiizee, Evarni... someone... PLEASE rescind this horrid setting and find a new way to get donations! PLEASE DON'T KILL WEBFLAKE!! -Thanks for listening to my rant,/endrant

The download limit is in place to stop people leaching, and taking everything. Its only 24 hours - 15 downloads is more than another for 1 day.
Guest Hackless
15 downloads would be an alright limit if that were actually the limit. Unfortunately myself and two friends are experiencing the same problem a few other people already posted on here about, we only use one download and are cut off after that one. Most of the files on here are avaliable on other websites, however, the one file I wanted (Curve Dark Theme) is not avaliable to me until I wait 24 hours. And if it turns out that theme isn't something I like, I have to wait another 24 hours. Administrator Tony 5,207 Posted May 27, 2013 Administrator Share Posted May 27, 2013 That was an awfully long tirade that ranged from complaining about limits of a free service, to "oh noes, WebFlake will die!" - only for you to change direction in your last post. There is no rash of "bugs" regarding download limits for IP.Downloads - anyone can Google it themselves (it's not even listed in their bug tracker). The real root of the problem is browser addons and sneaky attempts to circumvent download speed restrictions (with the use of accelerators). Threatening to quit a free service for another (which I'd wager any bet that they're not as reputable as you say they are), is both silly and puerile. If these "reputable" sites truly existed, you'd be there, not here. Furthermore, you won't find the same level of support or quality (virus free) content that you find here. Your best option is to contact Paradiizee directly, and perhaps he can work with you to fix the problem. As Chris alluded to, our download limits are in place for logical reasons.

Phun 723
There is currently a bug present in IP.Downloads where some users may experience issues when trying to download files with on a downloads system with a restriction in place. We basically can't have ads, download restrictions to promote donations, anything else to promote people to donate? Our site's quality is SO high. We've managed to filter out duplicates, leechers etc. with the systems we have in place. Our staff team is amazing. Our uptime since Forumcore has grown alot. This server basically costs around $60 per month. You get EVERYTHING on this site for free.. skins, releases, mods, apps and even scripts & templates.Having a restriction sucks, i know, but apparently we have to put these in place to stop people from ruining everything.
Justin™ 204
Leeching is a way of life on the internet and setting a download limit is one of the ways to deal with it. I, personally, believe it is set too high and should be lowered to 10 downloads a day and a 15 download limit should be set for subscribers and donators but, I don't see that happening. Guest Ataliana
It is leeching, let's look at it this way:7,462 Members x 15 Downloads x 1MB File = ~111.93 GB Bandwidth Per day So yes they can limit us.
Guest Hackless
I just don't see any new members coming here, unless the issue is fixed for everyone. Frankly, it doesn't matter how reputable a community is, most people just want files and they can be found in many places. I do understand that for someone looking for a new community to dedicate themselves to this site is probably the best option, however, webmasters such as myself just need the resources and need them in a timely fashion. I tried to come on here before as an active member but I simply don't have the time to dedicate myself to this site and the 9 other sites I run or moderate. Until the limit system works for everyone, it shouldn't be in place, plain and simple. Just my two cents. EDIT: And in response to PP, I don't have any browser addons/mods in place, just a clean install of Google Chrome. I tried logging in on clean IE and experienced the same issue. Administrator Tony 5,207 Posted May 30, 2013 Administrator Share Posted May 30, 2013 This is a free service. You're not entitled to anything here. If you want options in a "timely fashion", I suggest you purchase a license. How long would it take for you to scrape together the cash to invest in a license and purchase the premium content located on IPS? Weeks? Months? I'm willing to bet you've downloaded content valued at hundreds of dollars, if not more. Instead of being greedy, maybe you could show some appreciation for what we offer instead. This only seems to plague a very small number of users - in comparison to the 7,000 that we have.. I'd say we're doing just fine. We receive new signups daily, and I doubt that will ever change - no matter how many people are in your imaginary band of pitchfork commoners. Obviously, you're more interested in trolling and whining publicly, than being proactive about the problem. I suggested that you contact Paradiizee for further assistance, but instead you opted to post another delusional self-entitled response. For someone with such little time to spare, you sure have poor skills of managing that time. Topic locked.
