Suggestion

Recommended Posts

Justin probably meant to say that the topics over 31 days should be locked. It's a great suggestion, and I support it.

Yeah, just a little tired and overworked. You guys have enough to do and the spamming here has gotten way out of hand. I've seen some members just join and spam 15 posts in a minute just so they can access the downloads. Edited by Justin™

People are simply trying to leech WebFlake. Honestly, I think we should suspend any member who is obviously trying to leech. If they continue, they should receive a ban. It's quite annoying when people just want to exploit a great community and ruin it via spam, leech etc.

I don't really like the idea.  It's kind of pointless because, what about people who need their three posts to download?  It's really hard to make a post that's not considered spam.  So locking old topics won't really make a difference.

Locking old topics would cut down on spam. Members who just joined shouldn't be able to "welcome" other members who joined a month or two before them. Not only is it stupid, it's out and out spam posting.

+1, I agree with this suggestion. Leechers will do anything to get to the downloads.

You can download anyways, its requests and other forums they are trying for.

I suggest new members are moderated and then set off a leash by the moderator once his trial period has come to and end, lol.

Moderators are here for things like that, so let them do more around here by something like this :)

Removal of post requirements would definitely cut back on spam, since most users just want to download / request.

This topic is no longer of any use as our Download Policy has changed.

As for Moderators needing to "do more around here", we have plenty to do.

Topic locked to prevent unnecessary spam/thread necro'ing.
