Hello guys!

So I pay for IPB hosting from IPS.

but the staff are all little shits and they never really help.

So I wanted to free host my stuff like some of you guys do, but I don't really know how.

I want to host a nice SEXY vB forum, but I need all the best advice!

Like what free host to use, How to transfer my paid Domain to the free hosted site, and what is the best free DDoS protection? Oh and how to protect the site from hacks and all that stufnezz.

All help is welcome guys :)

I strongly encourage you to consider purchasing a legitimate web host. Free hosts typically have a catch or worse.. lousy hardware and/or support. Free hosts are also much more susceptible to downtime and database/network intrusions. I've posted countless times about GoDaddy's services (I'd recommend them over any host -- they're cheaper, provide better support, and quality prices). Furthermore, you can nab a  I posted a few days ago.

Also, GoDaddy offers easy to use tools (with tutorials) for transferring your domain. If you're feeling lazy, give 'em a call (24/7 phone support) and they'll walk you through it, step by step. As for their DDOS protection? Unmatched.

TL:DR - I say this often: spend cheap (i.e. free), expect cheap.

Sure thing. If you go the GoDaddy route, let me know if you have any other questions (web hosting, FTP access, setting up your account, etc). I'm not an official representative, but I am an affiliate (thus that high-end discount code). :)

You hate the IPB package, or IPS (the developers)? If it's the package itself, you may be interested in xenForo (similar, but more social based).

vBulletin is difficult for the average webmaster. A lot of unnecessary extra clicking to achieve the simplest goal, and not a lot of room for modifications (unless you intend to hard-code most of it). vBulletin 5 has allegedly corrected most of that, but it isn't compatible with a large majority of hosting providers for a number of ridiculous reasons (namely MySQL versions).

SMF is also another solid "free" choice if you don't want to use nulled software. GoDaddy also offers a one-click installation for SMF, and auto-creates the MySQL database, etc. Easy peasy. :)

Sure do.. you can also try using the promo code I linked to above (not quite sure that it will work on discounted products). I believe you'll fall in love with GoDaddy fairly quickly. :)

Just a reminder though it depends on what type of forum you are going to set up GoDaddy may be a great company but they are a onshore host and if you are going for a warez, adult site you may want to reconsider also if you are using nulled software much better to consider going with a offshore host.

Close, but not entirely true. Warez sites may or may not slide. Adult-content sites are perfectly legal and likely not monitored at all. As for nulled content, I've been using nulled content for the last 2-3 years, receive plenty of community spotlights, and they're either unaware, or simply don't care.
