Hello WebFlakers,

I have just joined the community and I am really a newbie as far as programming etc. is concerned.

I would like to ask you some questions:

1. What is the newest version of IPS and where can I find it for FREE?

2. What program should I use to build up my own forum? Or what is the best choice?

3. Do you know what theme or what program does WebFlake uses for this forum?

4. Are there any other platforms then IPS which are better for a forum?

I dont want to pay for something, I just want to start and try everything and get better and learn some things.

Well I have like 1000 questions but I have to learn by my own. Can you just tell me how to start my forum?

I just made an account by Freenom.com and InfinityFree.net to start my project.

I can see those databases phpMyAdmin, MySQL Databases, Remote MySQGL, PostgreSQL Databases etc.

I dont know what all this even mean and I dont know where to start or what to click.

Any help or guide? xD

  1. Download IPS 4.5.4.2.zip.
  2. Upload the contents to your server in the directory where you want your Community to run and extract .zip file.
  3. Simple visit /admin/install in your browser from that directory where you uploaded.
  4. The install will show you the other steps you need to do.

Thank you, I will do these steps step by step.
I am just waiting for my Domain, I contacted Freenom because I got a problem.

What forum software should I choose?

phpBB, vBulletin, WordPress, Vanilla, Forums, MyBB etc.?

I want to run the IPS that you have sended to me. Or what software does WebFlake use?

I've come so much further, thank you!

I am working on my forum now and I have to say I had a few doubts about the IPS Version Suits.

You said: Webflake use a IPS 4.4.10 and Behemoth theme. Well I just saw WebFlake does uses this Plugin: https://invisioncommunity.com/files/file/9514-profile-songs/

which is only compatible with the IPS 4.5.x version.

I mean I dont know, can you tell me why should I use the newest version of IPS or what are the differences between them?

There is so much more Applications and Plugins and Themes out there that is only compatible with the 4.2.x and 4.4.x versions.

Where can I find VideoBox Or Live Stream Version for Invision Community v4.5.4.2?

Where can I add the Group Legends under the who is online bar?

Where can I remove the Send me news and updates button form the registation form?

New apps, plugins and themes will be coming for IPS 4.5.x version. Some problems, bugs and errors in IPS 4.4.x version were fixed in 4.5.x version. You can take a look at all the updates, fixes and changes here IPS 4.5 Release Notes

There is currently no profile music app available for free download for 4.5.x (Profile Songs 1.0.5) [Only IPS 4.4.x]

Some applications running on IPS 4.4.x can also run on IPS 4.5.x try and test. (SD) Live Streams 1.3.7 | VideoBox 4.2.6

This plugin: Group Name Indicator 5.3 and I recommend this plugin in group colors: Group Color on User Links 14 (Working IPS 4.5.x versions)

You know what, you are right, I will not downgrade to IPS 4.4.x. There will so much more that will come in IPS 4.5.x.

I will let you know if I need something else.

I still dont see the panel, it doesnt work.

Do you know where I will find this Sparkling Shiny Group Legend Colors? I only have the simple sparkling without the shiny.

Where can I find these Award Icons and Groups? cracked.to

Where can I add more Profile Informations like Gender, Country, Current Mood and Contact Methods?

Grab icons with cursor and drag them to desktop

Group Name Indicator just installed works great, thank you! You recommended me the Group Color on User Links? Whats that for?

You should make changes to the theme, but I don't know about it. You can consider using another theme
