IPS like Actually Invision has been around longer than MyBB but because Invision is commercial software it gets continuous updates and improvements quicker than than MyBB which is free. Commercial software tends to be like that. Invision did start out as a free alternative to vBulletin but eventually went commercial and dramatically improved once it did.
