Twitch OR Mixer

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! I'm planning to start streaming gameplay with a few friends, but I'm having a hard time choosing between the two platforms.

I'm currently swinging towards Twitch due to it being a huge platform and I believe it has more features (please correct me if I'm wrong). Also, I never really hear Mixer come up in conversation, it's always Twitch this, Twitch that. Which gives me the impression that it's a bigger platform and generally a lot more popular.

I'm not trying to stream for personal gain, I generally just want to do it to have fun.

Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

i would go with twitch but i would watch out for the twitch staff cause they would ban you for saying a phrase that has a totally different meaning to you from them and they will normally side with a girl/women so watch out for that

I used to be a big twitch fan. But most of people I watch and when i stream myself has gone to mixer as it has more things to do and more interactive.

IT's less people meaning you grow quicker too :)

Never heard of Mixer therefore I would advise you to go with Twitch, it's much more popular.

^ I'm dead serious, never heard of it until I saw this thread, don't do that face man. ?

The people I watch still stream on Twitch and all the people I know only ever heard of Twitch for live streaming. I guess Mixer it's not that popular (yet) where I'm from, so I guess I should also advise you, @Toothless, to take this in consideration too when choosing which streaming platform you'd like to use. It really depends whether you plan to stream for a specific region (like your country, maybe you're not a native english speaker and you'd like to stream in your own language, therefore a smaller audience which may or may not heard about Mixer) or the whole world.

Just make sure the audience you're targeting is well aware of the platform and both you and your audience are comfortable using the platform. If you're still in doubt, try both of them, and you should be able to tell in a couple of days which one feels better/right for you and for those who watch/will watch you.

I've started to stream on Mixer, the community and support on there is fantastic. That's where I built a community from.
