Chad N 0
Hello I currently manage and run a gaming community the website averages about 50 -60 connections daily and 10 - 15 connections at once I am curious if one forums software would work better over another and what would be best in terms of features and ease of administration on said forums software. ptilly 0
I've had both XenForo and Invision Power Board. I started out with IPB first then moved to XenForo, then back to IPB. I can definitely say that IPB will come with alot more features by default as compared to XenForo. Whichever one you choose, make sure you choose a great theme to go with it. You can browse some of the best gaming themes at https://invisioncommunity.com/files/category/162-themes/ . Be careful of sites like IPSFocus and especially ThemeTree, because they'll sell you a theme for the same price as others ($25-30 usually) and it'll come with alot less features than some of the themes you can find on the official IPB marketplace. If you have any questions or are looking for some help with your forums, feel free to message me.

Tricky 239
Well to be honest i'm just setting up a mybb site fully with mods properly coded template edits all done. and its fantastic. so don't discount mybb for a game site its light and fast. But you need some basic skills to do all edits needed.
River 4
I would personally use Invision for my forum needs, but if you want to doing articles and game reviews I would suggest WordPress or Joomla as IPS Pages is PITA to setup and maintain. komichi 0
IPB is definitely more complete to me. I'm not sure about XF 2.0, but I think people used to hate IPB because it was bloated and consumed a lot more resources, but they have since fixed that. Well, bloated, yes, but I'm pretty sure the thing where IPB was using a lot of resources got fixed, I remember that was one of the main complaints 3.x and early 4.x version had. I remember my shared hosting complaining that my modestly-sized community was eating up too much CPU power haha. Personally I am at a cross between IPB and Xenforo at this point its just the matter for what would be faster and more responsive
