I am holding off upgrading, especially now that v 4.4.1 has been released already. Just waiting for the nulled version then will check it out on localhost before upgrading my main forum.

I did upgrade when 4.4.0 was first released and it made my site run really slow, so I downgraded back to 4.3.6 and will wait a little, especially since new releases are coming out already and only after a couple of weeks.

I used my backup files and database that I did PRIOR to upgrading. That is the number one rule before upgrading anything is to take a copy of ALL your files and current database PRIOR to upgrading any system, including IPS.

Then I just restored the old database, and deleted the 4.4 files and re-uploaded my old files from the 4.3.6 version and everything was fine and back to 4.3.6
