phpbb is definetly better for what you're aiming to create, it contains a lot more features.

Well seems that we are getting a lot of these questions at moment and again it depends on what type of movie site. You can use smf with levgal Media gallery a fantastic media solution for smf but I warn you its hard to find and yes iv a copy. There is a phpbb media gallery but I warn you its out of date. But there again depends on how you want to go about it. But on a whole id recommend SMF.

I have mostly used mybb, its a relatively decent forum.

I like phpbb, first is free to use, and secondly you can develop many functions and snippets if you knows php and html, also css and javascript.

I agree but you can do exactly the same with smf along with a half way decent portal and well basic php and css/html ect.
