Making an account INACTIVE

Many changes have taken place in Webflake. Some I welcome, some not. Though in most of the forums, admins do not ask for votes from members on any change and Webflake is not exception. Anyway, one of the un-welcome change is making an account inactive. People have many burdens for which they might not access or post anything for several months. I have seen that some members did not come here or post here anything for several months, but there account had not been made 'INACTIVE'. I know, it is on admins' discretion whether or not to make an account inactive. I think I should give you, the admins, a suggestion, to implement a system of sending alert 7 days prior to account holder's whose account is going to be inactive. I don't think it would be a very big thing to be implemented. In this way, I think, members would be glad to see the concerns of the admins towards every member (because members are the blood of a forum) and they will become active rather than seeing a RED WARNING of being marked as INACTIVE. Being INACTIVE without having an alert, I think, there is a huge possibility of being hurt. Human sentiment is an unpredictable thing.

I understand that participation is wanted on communities, but on specialised forums like this there are a number of people that just read and only come here occasionally

People that for the moment simply doesn't have much to share (lack on knowledge on the subject, other things that absorbs their time and energy) but also don't want to lose their account, and now are forced to fill the forums with some chitchat. I think communities like this always will have a prob to get a larger public that participate full-time.

In the past I always wondered why communities with nulled stuff battled eachother. Several has also gone, just given up.

Never understood why communities didn't united in this scene.

Nevertheless I'm glad Webflake is here and still alive!

The system has always been here it was just changed to be a bit more proactive in how it works within the new IPS 4.3

Some people can argue and say, oh but X Y Z or myself does not have any skills or anything to add.

Well tell us about your day, start a topic that isn't there. Give a thoughtfull ANSWER to a topic. I mean..

Do you play games ? Cool go post about it create a scene around things thats what makes it popular.

As a community we want to unite people and help people out. Alot of users just register an account download their stuff. Reach their limit wait untli the next day and on away the merry goes.

Now some other people do take Interest. Some people love to learn, some people love to teach. Some people find it fascinating to discuss who what where when about everyone.

The only thing we are considering spamming is when people just say "hi" "oh following" or posting crap to just make a post in Irrelanvant topics.

I mean think of it, ANY of you so far have had a question how would you feel, if one person just posted "hi" in your thread. Unrelated and just annoying.

I believe the system is good, though I can see the part where it could send out an email to people but i presume @Davlin can peak at that as its his domain on that area.

When it comes to people consider it un-welcome change what is a welcome change ? That others spend time nulling finding ways for you guys to use things. And you just take it. No thanks no chat just grab and go, in what way does that make it a community ?

My account has been marked inactive, but I don't mind the red warning message, tbh. I think the warning itself is very self-explanatory and not hurtful. It also explains what you can do to have the inactive status reversed. Having an alert a week or so before the official warning seems redundant to me and probably won't end up increasing activity. It's really not a big deal WebFlake admins require a few posts to get your account 'unlocked'. I don't have an issue with it.

I own a small music/general entertainment forum and there are a lot of inactive members on my site. So from an admin standpoint, I would like to implement this inactivity warning (or something like it). I've tried to offer incentives to get members active (giveaways, closed club with exclusives for active members only, etc) but it doesn't seem to work as well as I hoped. My co-admins and I reached out to some members via email and they either logged in once but didn't post or people never logged back in. So I understand the struggle of having a community with inactive members.

This actually kills the main point, which is coming here to download free resources, instead of forcing users ( such as i am right now ) to be active.

Or you my friend got the wrong idea, the main point is this is a FORUM, a Community.

If we just wanted to list free resources we wouldn't bother with other parts.

So i would disagree with it and say you are missing the point. And you so far have made 8 posts and all you wanted was free resources that others spent time and money to buy and get and you get to test and use for free. So a little effort from your side even might be good ?

Iv goto agree this site is a forum not just some shady cms full of grab and run content. for years this site has run on the idea that if you want good quality and safe nulled scripts its not hard to give just a little back...
