staff online plugin

fuuur

Question

hello again, i have installed plugin "staff online", but it seems to be a bit messy etc , if i add plugin, it says "this block cant be shown blabla", so it doesnt show up, but when im logged in, it will start showing staff online block in 5 mins or so , tougth it will even show after log out for 5 mins etc. also if no staff online, then it doesnt even show "staff online" block, how can i make this plugin permanent? So the whole block doesnt go away randomly.

Plugin version : 2.1.4

EDIT: also it doesnt show up any other rank to owner, cant see edit button on admin cp either -

It looks like a permission problem , look at the permission for that plugin and set to be visible to guests.

its same to all my forum ranks just not "developer" aka me, it shows me only as staff, tought admin and so are staff aswell, i think there should be settings somewhere but i cant find it on acp :/ and doing just edit via block manager it asks who to show it, its all set to everyone but still box is gone as soon as i log out :C

Settings > ACP > Plugins > Click on the edit option (Those are plugin specific settings if they exists)

Since the screenshot shows there are no settings, only way would be to recode the plugin yourself or pay a developer to get it done to your needs,

As far as I know, any blocks in IPB 4 disappear when there is nothing to show. For example, the Members block, if you choose to show in the block the users who have been active in the last 5 minutes it will display. But if there is no user online 5 minutes ago the block will disappear.

And it has a delay of 5 minutes to appear because the blocks are stored by cache.

Well since you know why you ask?

I would agree with @Salazar on this. As far as I remember blocks use a caching method.

Of course, if you know this, and still ask I can answer with a simple thing.

AdminCP > Pages > Blocks

And create your own with php and the MVC it comes with :)

The easiest way (and if you're familiar with PHP) is to create custom blocks yourself.

If in the plugin settings there is no way to choose which groups will appear in the list, then this is a problem with the plugin ..

You can then use the standard IPB blocks. The Members block (System> Members), choose the groups that will appear, choose the Currently Online option and the Sort by Last Activity option.

He will make a staff online, but will show with the delay of 5 minutes and will disappear when no one is online, as it should be.

So, I've currently just tested the staff online 2.1.4 plugin, seems to have no problems what so ever, this is the one i've used:
