They patched it and now if you try, it won't do anything.That's because it's contained within a completely different file now, in adminsources. Guest Heddlu Posted April 2, 2013 Share Posted April 2, 2013 (edited) I have been using both nulled and retail versions of IPB since Setpember last year and so far have had no warnings or anything from either IPB or >>Edited<< which my forum is currently hosted at. I would've bought a licence when I had the money to but then saying that by buying a license all you are doing is really buying the addons, paying for the support and what not. And furthermore renewing your license every six months is a pain in the arse especially when you haven't got the money to do so as the way I see it is, if you buy the license then it should last you a full year and not six months at a time. Purple Posted April 2, 2013 Share Posted April 2, 2013 I find that nulled forums are always messy or glitchy in the typing area when you post.. like when you type something, it might just randomly glitch you to the front of the paragraph and the same goes with deleting stuff and adding BBcodes such as bold and adding spacing.. it just messes up a lot and sometimes does not complete the task.. its weird. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

IPB 3.3.4 had this issue if I'm not mistaken (a nulled copy). Can't say for certain the retail copy didn't do it as well, but I was always aggravated by the strange double-spacing and goofy inability to copy/paste formatted text. I never seem to have this issue since I've been using nulled scripts, maybe it is you guys seeing this problem but I have not seen it once. I started my forum about an artist (singer) on a free platform and I'm about to launch my forum using the latest version of IPB but nulled....I know my forum is frequented by envious users and I would fear that they would "attack" my site in some way. Maybe they could try to hack it, but I'm not sure if they wanted to go beyond ... eg reporting it... - What do you advise me to improve the safety of my forum?- Do you think it'd be a good idea to hide all the "Invision Power Board" titles such as the platform, portal and skin copyright, that way they wouldn't see easily the forum platform I'm using? [*]Quality hosts go a long way in ensuring the sanctity of your community. In reality, anyone can be "hacked". Likelihood of it happening? Slim. Malware on the other hand, is common. Ultimately, aside from a reliable host, it depends on how you care for your community. Applying security patches, updating your software, etc are all necessities in preventing this. ThanksBut I know people can buy the removal copyright, so I think if you don't have the copyright doesn't mean you have a nulled version, am I right? I'd imagine there are more intricate ways for IPS to detect that the board is nulled by removing the copyright altogether (namely, limited clientele that can afford the license to do so). As for removing the copyright to prevent users from knowing your software is powered by IPS... the response is simple: inspect element. In other words, anyone can view the source code of any page within your community and see the IPS headers and what not. It's fairly common knowledge. If you want to be and act professional you can always purchase copyright removal, and if you have an IPB board, you did. Or at least that's what you tell anybody or any member that asks.
