Xenforo or IPB?

I have tried both and I found IPB to be a much more matured and developed solution. Their was nothing wrong from my experience with Xenforo if you are looking for something to just run a forum off of, but in my experience if you are looking to grow a community then IPB offers you all the tools you need to do so out of the box without the need for plugins, which are available for you if you need more. So my final answer would be IPB over Xenforo.

IPS Suite/IPB is best. I prefer the 4.2 version than the 4.1 version. If you like old style forums there is IP.Board 3.4.9 which i do not recommend due to security and it being outdated by years. 4.1 Has more themes/plugins but 4.2 is a great option. :)

XenForo has cleaner coding, and a growing number of users. Many of its current developers were started off working for Invision many years ago.

However, IPB is the powerhouse of online community software. They've been around for a while and have a giant database of themes and addons.

Haven't tried xenforo myself too much, but IPB is pretty user friendly, from regular users all the way to people with access to ACP, there're just so many customisations available.

You can even build your own page so I really enjoy it.
