Hey Staff,

Please restore anti-spam on registration, alot of bots are posting on the forum. Really annoying!

There's a lot of anti-spam on registration and they're still coming in. There's not much else we can do i'm afraid.

Actually there is. Don't just use the classical anti-spam captcha. Add the Q/A too. That prevent the bots from registering

Thanks, we've had them before and they still came through. I appreciate your input but battling spam is a topic we've been investigating for longer and unfortunately without success.

We've been trying different combinations behind the scenes and they've all turned out to be useless. We even had a chat with CleanTalk - an anti-spam provider that supposedly gets rid of nearly 100% of spam registrations on the sign up form but they also have failed to deliver.

As far as I can tell, the amount of spam has been reduced by at least 99%. There's a few that go through, unfortunately, but nothing crazy like it was before.

Well as our lovely Phun said in the shoutbox, the spam protection was accidentally left off. It's been turned back on, and we should see less to none spam bots signing up now. As always, report them if they still get through and we'll handle it. :)
