alakazam 10
Do you think Woltlab's Burning Board can be seen as a serious competitor for IPB? Burning Board's latest version seems to have a pretty awesome-looking photo gallery and a cool blogs system. It also has a chat plugin that rivals IP.Chat. It lacks some features that IPB has, such as status updates in the sidebar and various hooks, but the main apps of Burning Board seem to be really sleek, modern-looking. titcrunch 182
you compare a script with forum + calendar only all ther is external plugin vs a community suite with many applications .... so the answer is very easy IPS is the best in this last version Best Regards Titcrunch French webdesigner in camel Design, Support, help and tutorials in : Forum Camel Design. alakazam 10
I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about. Burning Board has pretty much the same apps that IPB has: gallery, calendar, blogs, and filebase. It also has a chat room app that is perhaps a little better than IP.Chat:
Locke 55
I've tried Burning Board and it honestly isn't bad. I'm just more comfortable with IPS since I've been with their forum software since I was a child, so its kind of hard to just move away. But, do I see Burning Board as a direct competitor to IPS? Possibly in the future. But right now, its not happening.
Nervodx 65
If Burning Board had more support behind it (and the default theme wasn't so ugly), it might be a decent alternative to IPB or xF.

But I agree about the support part. They really need a better support team.

WDX 0
You can not make apples with pears. Woltlab has IPBoard as its model. If you want to see it this way. But many features are missing which were only submitted by the community. Unfortunately, there is always less inovation and no one really dares to big projects. I had a website with the WBB / WSC for almost 5 years.
aXen 0
The Burning Board looks like IPB 3. In my opinion, IPB version 4 is more common.
