Administrator Tony 5,207 Posted April 11, 2015 Administrator Share Posted April 11, 2015 When we pay $10, do we have the rank and the permissions forever? No. A $10 donation will get you two months of +Donator status.

Administrator Tony 5,207 Posted April 12, 2015 Administrator Share Posted April 12, 2015 Premium things like? I'm wondering if its worth it. If you have to wonder "if it's worth it", then you clearly don't understand the definition of a donation, which is defined as an act of giving without expectation of anything in return. We offer perks and premium content as a 'thank you' to those willing to ensure WebFlake's continued upkeep but we're not obligated to, by any means. The very fact that we provide free support and free content should be sufficient enough to encourage anyone to donate to WebFlake. We don't require anyone to, nor should you expect us to prove that donating "is worth it". It's insulting.

Your definition of donation is correct, but most people find the perks as a positive side to donating, in fact, most people would only donate given those perks. Now, i ask if it's worth it because i do want to benefit even more from donating $10 to the website. You may find it selfish, which it is, but it is, what it is.

Valentine 25
I donated because I appreciate all that Webflake has done for me as a Webmaster. Don't get me wrong, the benefits are cool but donating keeps this site up, and that is the most important part. I'm happy to donate any time I'm able. 8)

Shaqattack118 7
+++ When you call yourself donator, it means that you are supporting for that..."site, business, or everything else. This website is pretty popular i presume, and the current donations aren't bad, but they could be better http://i.imgur.com/vb74VGH.png If you're trying to attract users to donate via perks, then make them better. But people like you who "donate" probably don't even mind the perks. What i'm saying is there aren't a lot of people like you.

Administrator Tony 5,207 Posted April 15, 2015 Administrator Share Posted April 15, 2015 That speaks more to the community's belief in our system than it does to your perceived oppression. Let's not derail the topic any further.
Phun 723
When we pay $10, do we have the rank and the permissions forever? To get back on topic a little bit, currently our system is so that you have the perks for a limited time. The perks you get are pretty good compared to what regular users are able to do and we do have a list of all the perks. We did have a little brainstorm between staff members for a tiered donator/premium kinda dealio where each tier would "cost" about 10$ more. We'd have 3 tiers, each with their own perk list. The highest tier would have the best perks on the site in regards to dl speed, limit, waiting time, post / profile stuff, etc. The big difference with these is that they'd be life long upgrades instead of bi-monthly donations. Thanks for all the negative feedback. Ruining my rep before i even start doing anything. My opinion gets me derepped on this site. http://i.imgur.com/34rgdqX.png We as staff get plenty of negative rep too and it just reflects other member's opinion towards what you posted. Some don't want to post but still show they don't agree with what you say, so they do it via a negative point. Rest assured, your -6 rep won't have much influence in future posts or our opinions towards you as a person.
