Shy
Hello everyone, well I was using xenforo in one of my forums and its fine and now I installed IPB on same hosting plan, it crashes most of the time... Is IPB is more heavy than xenforo?and what about VB? same as IPB?
Sandakelum
IPB is not that much heavy. All you need is a well optimized server. Most community suites doesn't practically work well on shared servers. So get yourself a VPS or a Dedicated Server. Checkout http://www.7skyhost.com I'm a IPB-only user and I don't see any single reason why should I even care about any other community suite software... So in short, I recommend IPB Thanks...
Justin™
IPB is the best paid forum script. It's updates are released more frequently then the others and security updates are issued whenever necessary, unlike vB or xF.
Administrator Tony Posted February 25, 2013 Administrator Share Posted February 25, 2013 For many years, I was a huge fan of xenForo -- granted, during that time period, XF was actually being developed on a fairly consistent basis. After gambling and introducing myself to IPB about 2 years ago, I've been obsessed with it. It offers all of the same features as XF (notably profiles, comments, real-time updates, etc).. while offering a far more intuitive ACP and the best security measures available (as alluded to by Justin). vBulletin is more of a "corporate" software. It is bare-bone software with a few desirable features, but hardly on the same level as IPB.
Guest Heosforo
I have recently seen a community leave IPB (was a mess), and changed their system to xenforo. Why? I don't know.. But now I have noticed a better performance in that site. I'm a IPB fan, but if you need the change.. go for XF, vB could be a wrong idea.
Purple
I love vBulletin to be honest. It may not be for everyone however because the admin panel can be scary to some. I use it because it offers many options for Steam Integration and also has an addon to make a custom serves page so users can view and connect to your servers. I believe that all in all however IPB is the better forum software because it is constantly being updated and being cared for.
Pooba
ipb is good but hooks sucks,vb has a larger community that develops alot of really nice hooks.i prefer ipb just for my staff as its easier for them but i hate the fact that blog and prefixes are a add-on in ipb,i still dont get why they do that.

Integrated apps are a nuisance - it can cause a number of issues with core upgrades, so IPB's approach is pure genius really. Thanks everyone for the help! Glad we could be of some assistance!
Guest SmugFly
nice thread I was going to post one of these threads. I used to use vb until v4 which I hated with a passion, so then switched to ipb, I have never used or even installed xenforo or vb 5, you know what it's like you get used to something and don't like change lol
Guest Alaura
Excellent thread. Even tho i was going to post that in ipboards, you could code in a game servers page. by just making a new addon of plugin.
MidnightAlways
i have myself used all the three... I have no problems with ipb. Xf can be a mess actually, sure its lite bt without much possilibities.. Vb can be heavy, usees alot of space and bw, ipb has everything stored and organised well? I would go fwnr ipb
Administrator Tony Posted March 7, 2013 Administrator Share Posted March 7, 2013 xenForo isn't too far behind IPB in terms of template/plugin management. I just never had an affinity for their lousy support team.
