Oh sorry, I intend to do that inside forums, not on index. Buttons inside forums seem to be rendered inside "forumTable"!

Hello! I'm trying to move "Start new topic" and "Mark forum as read" buttons to the ipsButtonBar element, however the problem is that the templates that generates those buttons require "$forum" as the parameter while the template that generates the topics table and such doesn't have that variable. I imagine I'd have to do some engine manipulations but overall I'm quite stuck. Help is very much appreciated! Desired result:
