Sorry for the late reply. Just came to inform that it has been resolved by choosing a smaller theme within the upload limit and the host has meanwhile also increased the upload limit.

Can't adjust. I can only choose php versions. They all come with 2mb upload standard. Cannot edit any settings other than the version.

Hello, I am currently working on a new website and I want to install a theme that exceeds my upload_size limit. While I am waiting for my webhost to increase my limit, or in case they won't, I am trying to install the theme manually through FTP. So far I am unsuccessful. Where should I add the .xml file? It doesn't go into system/theme or system/theme/setup

Error 500 is an unspecified error. It can be caused by many different things. If you remember what you did last, try undoing any recent changes to your server/host. Check if DB connections are intact as well, eg. server host as "localhost" or a specific hostname that your web hosting provider should give you.
