The goal for the Xenforo 2.0 release has always been feature parity with XF1. If people consider it a more polished version of XF1 then I'm sure the developers consider it a success. The whole point was to create a more modern foundation on which they can build moving forward. XF 2.1 will be the first release focused on new features.
